In no particular order.
Pixies Creedence Clearwater Revival Jimi Hendrix Experience The Ramones Buddy Holly The Beach Boys Bob Dylan Lead Belly The Temptations B.B. King The Doors John Lee Hooker Neil Young Frank Zappa The Velvet Underground Funkadelic (Not so much Parliament-Funkadelic, in my opinion..) Talking Heads Elvis Costello and the Attractions Nirvana (Though arguable...) Dead Kennedys
Please, feel free to add to the list as I know I've left out MANY. Also, feel free to correct me if the bands aren't from America...I'm pretty sure they all are, though, hahaha...The only bands I'm not sure of are The Doors and the Talking Heads..

Is Blue Oyster Cult American?
Alright, well I looked it up and the BOC is indeed American. Woo. I know there are some other fans here.

I wonder if a "Candian Rock" thread is forthcoming.
Or "Angolan Rock," for that matter.

No, he was born in Scotland, but I would think the The Talking Heads are still an American band. They formed in NYC. I have no idea when he moved to the US.
REM The Replacements Husker Du Minutemen X Prince James Brown Otis Redding Marvin Gaye
Outside of the topic, but Blues & Jazz are big US inventions (w/ roots outside of the US). |

Thinking Fellers Union Local #282
When they're on, they're on. Make some of the coolest fucked up music of all-time. I'd say they're better than Sonic Youth when TFUL282 are on top of their game. But unfortunately, so much of their material is just throwaway noise.
