Charlotte Hatherley. Axe player from Ash. She has never touched any part of me. Sadly.

Ewww! Ok, nevermind. I just saw what Brit Hume looks like on our big screen. A bit too old for me. I'll have to find a new crush.

I just turned 37. My friends tell me to lie about my age though. I guess I look more like 27. Mentally I'm 12.

Thanks for that luscious lyric, Shine. I love that song and New Order and Joy Division. Fun and intense college memories.

But who dared make that lame version of Blue Monday that I had the misfortune of hearing on the radio the other day? Anybody know? I couldn't listen all the way thru.

15! Are you being playful here, Cruton? I'm almost three times your age, 41. Thank god for KOK being 37. Seriously, it's good to know that "people of all ages" are here.

No offense, but Brit Hume's just another fascist mouthpiece at Fox. But whatever floats your boat, Pfeffa. My vote still goes to McDave. About older guys: for years and years I dated someone 12 years older (he's now in an old folks home...kidding) and it was very good. Which reminds me of that picture of Milla. Was she really 13 in that one?

Start it kathryn. I'm curious about how these young people got into him, in particular.

12, hell. The age I identify with most is about 8. I mean, when I was 12, I was interested mostly in girls and fart jokes. When I was 8, I was interested in frogs and lizards and, well, fart jokes. Yeah, 8.

Been a couple of years or so now, but a band called Orgy did a remake of Blue Monday...

I have no idea. Kinda wonder why bands want to release cover tunes as radio singles... or why record companies would want them to do that. Very few of these singles ever seem to be worth hearing. Most notable good one in recent memory was Johnny Cash singing "Hurt." That was more than tolerable. But the scariest most recent that I can think of is the remake of "Boys Of Summer." Why anyone felt the need to go there again is beyond me. But still... I am not them. And my likes and dislikes cannot speak for the many that apparently enjoyed that song. Both times around.

But I do get a kick out of some cover tunes. Just depending on what it is. Bauhaus' Ziggy Stardust was pretty good. Mebbe it has something to do with the pre-established merit of the band or something. Heck... or mebbe it's all in my own head.

I love good covers. Devo's Satisfaction, Oingo Boingo's You Really Got Me, Liz Phair's Banana Splits Theme, the Dickies' Nights in White Satin, the Vandals' Kokomo... this should be a new thread. (But I'm pretty new here. Been done and archived ages ago?)
