Hey, my first post!
Less than two weeks to go...anyone here who's going to the festival? With the Pixies NOT playing Finland, this is the closest gig for me. Still, a +1000 kilometer trip with trains, busses and planes through Finland and Sweden. But it's all good.

Nah, they didn't play Sad Punk. I think U-Mass and Velouria were the only songs from the last two albums. Kim's commentary: "I see lots of nice haircuts out there". Agreed. Too many haircuts in the crowd and not enough rock'n'roll. Great gig otherwise. |

Yes there was some anoying people.. where did all of you stand? first i was at the front row kinda close to Joey, then later after suffering some hard beating because of my size i found a great spot, at like the third row.. Here comes your man was really a crowd favourite.. i cant belive so many people know all the lyrics.. Im amazed |

blownaway: Weird, I stood also close to Joey. At first at the second row, but in the end at like the fourth row. Close enough, I regret I didn't bring a camera... |

By the way, not too long ago I read in the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet that Pixies would record all their gigs and sell it on DVD immediately after. Anyone who knows what happened to that, just BS or what? |

Hi, I finally made my way back home. The show was just amazing, quite possibly the best I've ever seen. Some observations:
Nimrod's Son was played first half slow, rest of it fast. On all the disclive stuff I have heard they do it fast-slow or fast-fast. Very cool version!
Joey played a heavymetal solo! Well it lasted for about 2 seconds, but still. I think it was during Vamos. Made me smile.
They first played all the songs which Frank plays with his Tele, then the stuff he plays with the acoustic. Perfect way to play a festival set.
I thought the crowd was even surprisingly into the Pixies, considering how young they were for the most part. But what's up with you swedes not wanting encores? I saw this all weekend, a band would end their set and very few of us were cheering for more.
Still, a great festival, a great pixiesexperience.
