Apparently it has a 3500 capacity for hockey games, so I've heard that the capacity for concerts is usually booked somewhere between 2500 to 3000. Which is, when you think about it, pretty small compared to the other arenas/halls they're playing here in Canada (Montreal holds 7000 and Toronto's Arrow Hall I think holds 9000). |

No arguement there (worse than Winnipeg, according to those in the Winnipeg thread). |

Haha, anyway i really doubt their will be that much crazy pressure to get tickets like the winnipeg show i was fortunate enough to attend because of the good people who are a part of this site/board :)I just can't see it be in that much demand considering i dont think ottawa would be enough to fill the place..but who knows about hull |

Would anyone be interested in trading two Hull tickets for my two Montreal (26th) tickets?
Incidentally, both are General Admission, right? |

Hey Champ, I saw Winnipeg too (actually lived there for a couple years). There is no doubt in my mind that living in Hull is practically living in hell, but there are some redeeming factors (however few). Check out prsconcerts.com and go to the message board. Under shows PRS (the local concert promoter) has been releasing small amounts of information concerning the concert. They say they're going to release information for tickets on the message board first, so this will give everyone a headstart to getting Hull tickets, without having to pre-order from Pixiesmusic.com (which is damn expensive for peace of mind that you're guaranteed your tickets But as Champ has already said, the demand for this one might be a little dampened). |

I might consider the drive to Hull from Toronto if there's a good Pixies fan contingent base.. in other words.. if anyone wants to party before or after the show.. I'm so there!!!

AudioDr, I think that since the Cambie never worked out, I owe you a few beers. C'mon down to Ottawa and there'll be some good pre/post-show parties. I'm rallying some troops out here and I think the show will sell out pretty quickly (at least I hope so). |

I'm in for a pre-show party, its always good to meet fellow fans. Just saw them in Paris which rocked completely, and we got tickets in Montreal for Saturday night before we found out they were playing in our own backyard - so I guess we will see them three times this tour! Yeehaw But again there are months to wait ... I don't know if I can wait that long!! |

We should make a list of possible pre-post show places and see if we can strike a deal with management for drinks or accomodations. Any suggestions? Definetly close to the venue, but maybe in Ottawa. |

Well the show is general admission with doors opening at 7:30pm, so I figure I'd better line-up before 6:30pm in order to get front stage (which is the goal). I would guess that any pre-party stuff should happen within the realms of 4:00pm and 6:00pm (this is just a suggestion though). Any post party gatherings will probably be taking place well after the show around 11:30pm or midnight. I'm partial to Barrymore's as well, but I reckon a list of possible sites should be compiled, voted on, and then approach the site's proprietor to see if we scam ourselves some discounted rates. It worked well in Winnipeg, so it'll probably work out well in Ottawa. Plus, we need to get more people in this thread. Everyone who's coming to the Hull show, put your thoughts forward. |

Good, however old, news! The Marble Index is opening in Ottawa/Hull. From what I have heard from their website it sounds like they might be interesting to see. So who all is coming down for the Hull show? The wait is unbearable. |

Hell, I booked off the bloody week from work. First, 6 of us are going to Toronto for the 24th. Sunday at noon I'm holding a pre-pre-party at my apartment (We're going to watch the entire DVD and attempt to listen to every single Pixies disc I've got + food + drink). Then after that around 4 or 5 we're heading off to the bar for some minor liquoring up (I plan on being DD before the show so I'll gladly cart around the rowdies). Then show at 6 (with hopes of getting up front stage). Then from there were heading off to the post-party, which we have yet to determine where would be the best place. I'm personally liking Barrymore's or Maclarens but they are so far from the venue (or maybe Patty's Pub or Gap of Dunloe). There is also the fact that must be considered is that this show takes place on a Sunday and most pubs are closed after midnight. My group is looking like it'll be 9-12 strong (and the number keeps going up). Buddies are still asking if there are tickets left (GA floor is sold out, but there are still GA Stand tickets). My previous comment about the BOB capacity was indeed incorrect. Capacity is actually 4000. This is going to be one awesome fullday event. |

Hmm since the floor is sold out that might take a chunk of people out of my group, well maybe they will still go il have to talk to them. I was thinking about getting one of those limo buses to cart us around. Barrymore's is great, and since its on a sunday thats 80's night eh?, how far is Barry's from the show roughly? |

The BOB is about a ten minute drive into Hull, so from Barrymore's to venue would probably be in the area of 20-30 minutes. At the PRSconcerts.com message board, someone was saying that the GA stands seats are still not that bad as it is a small arena but that you should arrive early so that you can get good seats. |

Allright thanks for telling me that, im sure i can convince them to still go as it will be a rocking show no matter where the hell they are. I think barrymores is still dooable for us considering its kindof on the way back home anyways, but we'l c a bit later on i guess. |

Very true! I personally prefer Barrymore's or the Gap of Dunloe just because it's closer to home. But really, where do we want to go out for beer: Hull (the asshole of the planet) or downtown Ottawa? It's looking obvious to me. |

Hey Champ, I actually work with a guy whose father runs a limo service. I'm going to book it for my group. It's a white limo, I think it holds 12-15, but I got to check on that. If you can find a limo that fits enough for both our groups, yeah, I'm sure our groups can figure out a way to split it. |

I'm a bit late here, boys, but I do want to get in on the Hull show action!
I'm up for just about any pre-show event(s) and will turn into a pumpkin the moment the last encore ends.
Let's rock!

Kathryn et. al., pre-pre show/pre-show/post-show is open to anyone who can and is willing to shell out for limo and liquor (once again I'm DD before the show). If a large enough group splits the cost, we might all get a limo ride that night! Hey Champ, if you live in Ottawa we should work something out in Ottawa/Hull like Gunner/Loomer/MattB did in Winnipeg, where we approach a bar to get a group rate. That'd be cool, but if all else fails, who cares, we're seeing the Pixies on the 28th!!! |

Thanks for answering me, jvince. I don't know my way around and I'll be taying in downtown Ottawa. So I'm game for whatever you locals recommend and are kind enough to plan. Count me in, but clue me in, too!

Hey Jvince, Kathyrn. I was looking yesterday at a few companies who have limo's that hold 20 people, lol, but i still gotta call and c if they actually have them on the date and how expensive they are. If not then we'l probly just go with say a shuttle bus, or whatever, just something i can drink and have a good time in. |

Hey - I'm heading to the Hull show too, with a few friends. If you are still not sure what to do post, might I suggest Zaphods. Sunday nights are Punxercise (a girl punk band doing aerobics, weird but funny!) and then Retro Underground (dj), always a good time. It's in the market so much closer to the venue than Barrymore's and rarely a line-up (I've shown up at Barrymore's after 10:30 and haven't been able to get in). |
