I over bought tickets for the shows I was going to, but thought I could easily get rid of them for face value. But I am having the hardest time selling them. I had extra tickets to the some of the Chicago shows and took a bath on them. I was forced to sell them for way below face value just to recoup some of my money. I am now finding the same situation with the Massachusetts shows.
Anyone else finding the same thing? I think the Pixies simply just made sure that they met demand. They are playing so many shows that everyone who wants to see them was able to get tickets. |

Yeah, I found the same thing at Saint Paul, Minnesota dates. At least one of the nights was sold out. But, what the venue did to discourage the scalpers was open up two sections of seats the night of the show. This required anyone with extra tickets to drop their prices down by a lot if they wanted to get rid of them. I passed by a couple people who just wanted to give their's away for free! |

Well...I was cool until someone who said all along they were going to buy tickets backed out the day before.
I sold them for face value minus the ticket master fees, so I was lucky... the person who bailed on me and said they should help out is still mia.

I got absolutely slaughtered on the show in Dallas, as did one of my friends. We couldn't even give away one of the tickets and left it at the door on the side of a trash can. I think we figured out that our own ticket cost each of us like $125 after all was said and done. It was worth it though, but so much for my "I'll make a ton of money if I don't use all these tickets...it's the freakin' Pixies!!" |

I had two extra tickets for Nov. 16th in Chicago and two extras for Nov. 11th in Minneapolis -- sold all of them on ebay at face value. However, I don't doubt I would have had problems selling them the day of the show. I think most people who wanted to see the Pixies got their tickets early or went to ebay.

I sold my two Detroit State THeatre tickets for way below what I paid.. what's worse is that since I bought them when the US dollar was much stronger, I lost even more. I got rid of one for $10 US... I was happy that they went to a fan instead of not being used at all though |

I was supposed to go to the 12/5 Camden show with a friend but she bailed out, so with a week to go I either have to sell one so I can make the show, or sell the pair since selling two is easier than selling one. Anyone interested? Check the ticket thread for more info (i'm on the last page).
