Anyone got any new bands to recommend? I've got the odd one or two.
The Golden Virgins - despite being from Sunderland, I think this band may well appeal to Catholics-heads. There's a definite embittered love song country/alt.rock vibe going on, the albums called 'Songs Of Praise'
Ella Guru - Very quiet country-ish stuff, imagine Low covering Neil Young songs.
Hope Of The States - epic Radioheady sort of stuff, but far more interesting. Should be very big within a few months, so get in early. See also: Sigur Ros, Doves, Silver Mount Zion.

i shared a taxi home from smile with the girl who dates the guitarist from nine black alps again on sat. i think i quizzed her about them, and where her boyfriend was that night, but i was too drunk to remember.
