Hey Bumble, we were thinking seriously about this recently (as I mentioned earlier).
Can you choose your plot, or is it assigned randomly or according to the selling entity's choice?
Is your property on the dark side of the moon?
If the only tool you have is an elbow macaroni,

you just get assigned a plot, you did when i got them anyway... one moment <goes off in search of certificate>
i have lot number 059/1158 in area F-4, Quadrant Charlie (if anyone wants to visit)
it's near oceanus procellarum?
i apparently have lunar mineral rights... i know it means shit, but it's kind of cool to say you have it, and you get a lovely certificate (that i may frame when i get around to it) and a map showing where the acre is you own...
i got mine from moon estates http://www.moonestates.com not sure if they're the same company or not. i did some research on the web, and it's not a con. it may not entitle you to much, but it's all been filed with the US government. you get some interesting literature about how the rights were originally obtained.

just looked, it's on the near side of the moon, so your plot is actually visible, given the right equipment...
