that would look dumb. then you'd have a "step". i already went through the 2nd grade. my step days are over.
You would NOT have a "step". You would have a cute haircut. And I AM an expert... so there.

No, you want the haircut, you have to GO TO the salon. The salon does not come to you. Email me when you get to Boston...

You should just get clippers and use the longest setting (or blade) on the top, and one setting shorter on the sides. Boys with short hair are way cuter than boys with long hair or some weird "style". IMHO, anyways.

you would say that... being american and all... shouldn't they be leaving the back though?

What does that even MEAN? "Being American"? I don't get it.
And I do cut another forum members hair - my OWN! Strangers have stopped me on the street to ask where I get it cut. Really! Honest! EEEEE!

Hey now floop, I'm no polygamist. It's hard enough dealing with one unruly head of hair.

Has anyone besides the folks in their ads actually ever used a Flowbee??? Seems to me you could stuff the end of a vacuum cleaner hose with barbed wire, run it thru your hair, and get the same results.

You should'nt have shaved off your eyebrows as well!
I did that as well once or twice, it's very satisfing to have a nice smooth head. Not shaving off my eyebrows that is.

"In a certain sense, the shaving of my head helped me to get rid of all these stupid vanities, really."
Pavement/Malkmus have quite a few songs about hair cuts - "I'm just a boy with a new haircut and that's a pretty nice haircut". The second thing that I think of is the first Spike Lee's short movie, where you can see an old guy cutting someone's hair and old New-Orleans style jazz in the background.
I think it's a very good topic, and people don't talk enough about this very aspect of our everyday life.
I think that hair cutting is a highly poetic subject. It reminds me immediately of childhood, and how I used to cry when I was having my hair cut, when I was about 4 years old. Then, each period in my life had its own haircut.
There are also some philosophical and ethnological aspects of hair and cutting it - think about Samson and Dalila (listen to Gouge Away). Hair has often some magical attributes, and is considered as a symbol of male fertility.
It is also closely linked to death. It keeps on growing when you're dead. It's a dead part of the body. There is a great short story by the French writer Maupassant about a crazy guy who keeps the hair of his defunct and once beloved wife in his drawer.
Finally, there are some social aspects : your hair reveals your social status, or the message you want to communicate to other people.

Yeah, I agree, I used to be real paranoid about my hair in school (I had long hair with one of those Grunge undercuts for a while hehe), but I just shaved it all off second year in college and never really think about my hairline anymore. I think I grew more as a person when I just accepted it and was happier being myself. Most people only know with my hair the way it is now, so knowbody ever really mentiones it to me. Oh shit, sorry I thought this thread was about going bald!

He needs some sun too, I think his pasty-ness and big scary fish lips are more frightening then his hair.
Please don't come after me, Mr. Walken.

Exactly!!! All men should shave their heads anyway. They look a lot better.
Unless of course they are ugly, in which case they need some hair to take attention away from the face.
If you got the looks though, a shaved head makes the face the centre of attention. As it should be.
David Beckham and Brad Pitt are good examples. They both suit shaved heads more than their other haircuts. Why? 'Cos they both have such good looking faces.

What a quaint, old-fashioned concept! I don't know WHAT I'd do if it weren't for the salon that sought me out whenever my hair started to get long. It's the most necessary invention since the kid-seeking toy store! Now, if you'll excuse me, the grocery store has just arrived.
