Trashcan Sinatras - Obscurity Knocks.
I agree with you guys that the Lannegan album is superb. Why did he title it Bubblegum though? There is nothing bubblegum about any of it.

Maybe it's an ironic title.
Anyway, I'm listening to Tori Amos' version of "Strange Little Girl."

I'm listening to nothing much at the mo. I'm trying to go to bed but apparently thats not happening right now... I got the 50 Foot Wave mini-album through earlier and I've been listening to that. It's pretty good, I'm looking forward to seeing them.
Kind regards, Dr. Simon Specialist In Broken Hearts |

Me trying to learn the banjo, without Jesus' help.
Sounds pretty ungodly. |

Intersting link there obfuscateByWill. Songs For The Deaf ends with a Kinks cover.
I am now listening to Bleach by Nirvana.

Yes they are. It's taken me a while (and a MusicZone sale) to really get into them, but I am glad I did now.

Not just good - fucking great! Start off with Queens of the Stone Age - Queens of the Stone Age - simply beautiful albumn.
I'm listening to Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster - The Royal Society. It's like a big bite of grapefruit - I think I love them as much as The Pixies now! |

WHAT? You have the new album? Where the hell did you get that Sufer Rosa? I LOVE 80's Matchbox with a passion. They were my favourite band at Reading this year, along with their fellow Brightonites, British Sea Power. Make sure you bring that new album on our road trip. I will bring QOTSA.
I am listening to Stellastarr* by Stellastarr* right now. Lovely stuff.

Lets just say I have special friends... Got to meet them at the Kerrang awards this year (had to restrain myself from turning into a gibbering wreck) - Favourite band at the moment - what a fucking treat they are live!
I'm listening to Juliette & the Licks - suprisingly good _________________________________________________________

An ancient tape of Chocolate & Cheese. Baby Bitch to be more specific. Didn't plan on listening to it. I found the combination to an old fireproof safe of mine. Inside were a couple dozen cassette tapes of old 4-track and 8-track recordings by my band from years ago that I had been wanting to find/remaster. One of the cassettes had been eaten and torn by some crap machine, and I thought "hey! This might be that tape that had the first recordings my band made on it! It got eaten! I can fix it! Yes!" I love Ween, and Chocolate & Cheese is my favorite album of theirs, but I was hoping for that juicy bit of my musical past. Oh well. Now I'm listening to Mister Won't You Please Help My Pony. That one's pretty damn good. Can't complain! |

I'm listening to the album 'Songs Of Praise' by The Golden Virgins, track 'The Thought Of Her'. I really didn't want to like this album when I was sent it to review (band/album name, from Sunderland), but its grown on me so much. Its up there for album of the year so far for me.
So, I finally got my X-Wing |

Interpol, Turn On The Bright Lights.
Apparently, Surfer Rosa, 80's Matchbox stalk GypseyDeath around Brighton. So she says anyway. She does talk shit though.
