Whenever I hear about Pixies covering Head On I hear that it wasn't because they were JAMC fans but more of a piss take but I just heard a JAMC song called 'Happy When It Rains' and to me it sounds kinda like 'Bird Dream Of The Olympus Mons' I'm not sure who's song came out first but it seems like they were, musically at least inspired by each other

Any opinions on it?

HWIR came before BDotOM . I know that because one i have on vinyl and the other on CD. I think Head On is a great cover, how could you conclude it was a piss take.

I remember reading an interview where Frank said that they had listened to the radio a lot in L.A. while making Doolittle or Bossanova and Head On was always getting played on K-ROQ and they covered it because they liked it. I agree I doubt they'd record it and do a video for it if it was a piss-take.

Yeah, Frank was a big fan at the time, definitely not a piss take. You can see a huge JAMC influence on his vocal style on certain songs on Bossanova and Trompe.
