We're going on Saturday. It'd be good if he popped in briefly!!! (I do mean very briefly!!!) I've heard some of the stuff off GRaham Coxon's new album but I'm yet to be won over. I'd love it if Evan Dando made an appearance......he's a complete lunatic but has a lovely voice.

i've read somewhere that keane are rumoured
i'm not holding out much hope for a decent support, but i don't really care cos it'd all be a bit too much excitement if the support was good

I've heard from Jo of 4AD notoriety that McLusky are definates for the Saturday and The Delays are there on Wednesday.
As for the rest I'm gunning for BSP on Friday (thanx for the ticket John C!)

Now if Ash would only change their minds and let Mogwai open on the 14th of June (I've nothing against Ash but if Mogwai opened my trip would be 100% perfect)

well i've ruled out the delays (website mentions they're doing 2nd june support), and keane (in america), can find no mention of badly drawn boy doing anything that date, and nothing on graham coxon tour, tho the 4th ain't on there either

and although BDB is one of our bands (he's on XL), we've not heard anything here about him.. in fact, when I mentioned it, I got laughed at.. eek!

(recently listening to a copy of the doolittle gig from bristol polly someone sent me)

indeed, if i was in one of the bands supporting the pixies, i would have been mentioning it on my site, telling NME, just shouting from the roof-tops... then again, it's not as if they'll sell any more tickets (being sold out already)...

but the thing is is that from what we've all heard, the supports are pretty big in their own right....
personally, if i haven't heard anything by tomorrow, i'll be turning up early...except if it's the delays cause they suck.

I always try and get there in time to see the support if possible. You never know when you might see a really good, 'next big thing' kinda band.

I saw this on another forum. The source is normally quite reliable.
"Supports are Graham Coxon, The Delays, Badly Drawn Boy and the David Lovering magic show. Not sure in which order."
The Delays are supposed to be Wednesday according to other sources.

Well its definitely Graham Coxon. Friday only. I know the Sean, Keyboard player in the band....(also Beth Orton's).
However I am going tonight and see that the general consensus is the Delays??? Never heard of them but Amazon seems to think I would like them. Their recommended album for me at the moment. |

my dream support possibilities
breeders (tiring for kim, but good for us)
throwing muses (how great would that be)
50 foot wave (cos tm aren't together at the mo)
fb & the catholics (tiring for frank, good for us)
rich gilberts band (the velvet swingers?) cos he's fab
never gonna happen!
it is def the delays tonight, says on their website, a lot of people seem to like them, i find them a tad bland

well i contacted the general manager of the Brixton Academy regarding the supports, and at first she said that the tour management is keeping them secret so she couldn't tell me, but then i got another email right after that saying that they are going to be releasing the names of each nights support on the morning of that days gig...
and she told me it was the delays tonite.....boo
