I swear I just heard BBC 6 Music say Graham Coxon is supporting the Brixton dates. That's good news for me! |

oh that's pretty good news! we were thinking of going to see him in manchester on 20th may, but it's £12.50... so we decided it was a bit expensive to see him. seems like a good call now! hurrah!

I'll be hoping for Mogwai with you Benji. McLusky was also mentioned before on this forum, what became of that rumour? What is Coxon's music like? I never was into Blur so have not paid attention to Coxon.

yeah, the Super12 nations should petition the promotors....
by the way, seems the NZ teams have finally gotten their asses into gear. seems another title for the Crusaders is on the cards... pity i hate them.
but back on topic - yeah Graham Coxon wouldn't interest me at all....oh well, more beer time i guess.

"i wish" is a great song, from quite a few years back... his new song isn't too bad either.

Yep, at one stage I was worried my "promise" of our teams losing against the Crusaders would not realize. Which team do you support then? Of the NZ teams I like the Blues the most, they are the best to watch when they are playing well.
I hate the Bulls, even though I'm from Pretoria and I live very close to their stadium. I'm a Stormers supporter, sad about Krige making such an ass of himself.
Uhm, back to the topic. Lets pepper the promoters of the show with requests for Mogwai. Have you got their e-mail?

nope, no email for Metropolis.... not that that would do much tho....
i support the Hurricans cause thats where i grew up - i have lived right next door the Jade Statium in Christchurch for 7 years however, but i just hate them...though i don't tell to many of my friends that ot else i might get the bash.
i too like the blues - however, most non-auckalnder hate 'em cause everybody in nz hates auckland.

I like Graham so its good news for me although i have already boght a ticket to see him in Camden a few days after. I don't like him enough to see him three times in one week though.
I was thinking it would be cool if someone big opended for them just because they were fans, like Radiohead or PJ Harvey. I know its unlikely but it would be cool. |

Graham Coxon's first single off his new album, 'Freakin' Out' is fookin excellent so I am interested to hear the rest. I am gonna be seeing him at Reading Festival anyway so I am not too bothered if it isn't him.
Hey Bumble, are you going to see Modest Mouse in Manchester soon? They are playing with Bright Eyes.

Just realised that it can't be Coxon for the 2nd and 3rd 'cos he is playing Cardiff and Oxford respectively on those dates. Someone lied to you ihatetouts, unless they were just refering to the 4th and 5th.

I'm positive it was mentioned he would support at least some of the Pixies dates. It guess Wed + Thurs arent possible (sorry if I got anyones hopes up, I was only half listening to the radio and it didnt click for a couple of seconds!), but Gideon Coe definently mentioned him supporting The Pixies on this mornings show.

The Delays have said on their website that they're supporting on the 2nd. That said, they refer to it as "Tuesday the 2nd of June".

Tsk. Get with it, sunshine. They're Radio 2-friendly, West Coast style, occasional Cast imitators and generally drab band from Southampton. The intro to one of their tracks has been used on countless BBC ads. You'd recognise it if you heard it, I suspect. I'm seeing them tonight, so I'd rather not have to listen to them twice in a month. I'll be asleep by the time the Pixies arrive on stage. |

I had heard that there was to be a different support band for each night. I believe British Sea Power were in the frame as well for one of the performances. |

Well before the reunion was announced, I started a topic about who should support them, and I suggested British Sea Power. It's a shame it looks like The Delays on the first night, when I will be there. Oh well, it's all about the main event anyway. I don't want anyone good from distracting me now!!!

British Sea Power have actually said in an interview a few weeks ago that they might be supporting Pixies at Brixton. But I've heard nothing since.

graham coxon has gone on record throughout his entire career that thee reason he does what he does is because of the pixies. I wouldnt mind seeing him however if its the delays I feel some major heckling coming on.

I hate hecklers, its just so rude. If you don't like the support, and usually i don't, then go to the bar and ignore them! |

dont get me wrong, I perhaps never put that across correctly, I wont be heckling as quite frankly my mind will be on other things, however the delays, I cant see them going down too well with pixies fans.

A friend tells me that this week's NME confirms Graham Coxon as support for (at least) the Friday. I forget if it's for the Saturday as well. |

Ash are playing the Paris and Germany gigs and will no doubt will be looking to play at least one of the UK gigs. I'm not a fan but they would be better then the Delays. Graham Coxon's last album was very good although he did go into Liam Lynch territory once or twice. Hell I think the crowd will be there for a good time and who the support ends up to be won't really matter too much.

Hmm, looks like the first, third and fourth nights are taken - any ideas for the Thursday when I'm there? I definitely don't want no Delays, but Coxon would be passable. I'm with Benji on Mogwai though, although British Sea Power or McLusky would be cool...
And I have slightly more idea what Benji and Wilhelm are talking bout now, but not much...

mclusky are not a 'boy band' - they're quite cool. but too similar sounding to the pixies to support them imo...
Why won't you dance for me, like you danced for him? |
