| It is quite obvious that we are living in the era of Re-Modeling, Renovating, Face-lifting, Do-It-Yourself, Redesigning, Queer-Eye- for television. There are so many shows, I cannot begin to count. In my opinion, they all suck. They all have horrible taste (for example, I like to shit, shower and shave in my bathroom. dunno about you, but it does not need to be an 'arabian oasis'). I cannot begin to think of the adverse effects that this will have on collective values. Words that come to mind: GENTRIFICATION, CONSPICUOUS CONSUMPTION, IDENTITY CRISIS, YUPPIES, HOME DEPOT. I'd like to hear what some of you think about this seemingly newly embedded phenomenon. |

I like to shit, shower, shave and scramble eggs all in the same room. Those yuppie bastards never address those needs.

Oh I love those programs. Making the houses look all pretty and nice. Ooh I love all the pastel shades they use!!!

I spent Christmas 2002 watching Trading Spaces...almost literally all day. That show's pretty addictive.

it is addictive - plus i think it'll somehow get into my brain via osmosis so that when i buy a house its not all plain and white with pixies posters everywhere

| I know exactly what you mean about those shows giving their bullshit expectations on how people should live. But anyway, the Queer Eye show is funny and my mom loves the show Clean Sweep. She's obsessed with housework ( as any good woman should be ). |
