I was at the show last night, in the first row in front of Kim. I'm still overwhelmed...
Don't complain TOO much about those digital cameras - here are some of the pictures I took last night. I may go over my bandwidth, so if that happens just check back tomorrow.

You were right over by me...thanks for sharing those photos. So many of mine looked like they were going straight up Kim's nose because of the angle I was at. |

There was a tall guy standing near you. I had to crop his head out of half my photos! |

Anecdote: For the past two days since the show, about every 15 minutes, I say "you know, I saw the Pixies" to whoever's around (in most cases, only my roommate). It's like, it keeps occurring to me freshly at 15 minute intervals, and I keep getting stopped dead in my tracks by the realisation. It makes me very happy. |

I thought I should try and come up with a setlist so they can put it in the official setlist thread...otherwise, years from now, people won't believe this show really happened. As far as I can come up with, they did the 19 songs listed below, in roughly that order. It's still kind of surprising how many "every-nighters" they left out of this show - no Gouge, no Monkey, no Holiday, no Man, etc... Anybody sees anything I forgot, post it.
Bone Machine U-Mass I Bleed Cactus Dead Number 13 Baby Caribou Craxity Jones Something Against You Isla De Encanta Broken Face Hey Deabaser Gigantic Tame Wave of Mutilation (UKS) Vamos Nimrod's Son In Heaven / Where is My Mind

all i can say for now is this was one of the best shows i've ever seen, period. probalby the 2nd best all time show.. i can't say how much of a treat it was and how lucky i feel to have gone to it. i'll say more, but i have to work..

All seems right with the world when they save their best for Los Angeles... er, Pomona.
I gotta say I thought the Glass House was a pretty cool little venue. Totally no frills, but the laid-back ins & outs door policy is ace. Plus I didn't encounter any assholes that night.
I've been careful not to mention the show too many times around my wife. She's still irritated that she couldn't go. That wasn't my fault, but still I don't want to push my luck. |

yeah. going to coachella the next day (with friends who weren't at the show) i had to pretend that it didn't suck, in comparison.. knowing i had gotten to see that show is probably the main thing that kept me from becoming violently annoyed at Coachella (with the heat and crowds).. it was like my little secret.
i like anazagos' and BLT's comments.. the lighting did look cool. that was one thing that really struck me, just how fucking cool they looked up there. the lighting was perfect. dark and ominous.. during some of the instrumental parts, when Frank would step back in the smoke, silhouetted.. it felt like some kind of ritualistic thing. i can't really explain it. it really did look surreal.
and like anazagos said, it was just this roar of guitars.. the sound was was unbelievable. and i've never heard them sound tighter, on any bootleg or what have you... his/their performance was above and beyond what it had to be.
i've noticed this before, but it seems to me that when Frank is at a smaller gig, ironically, he seems to put that much more effort into it; a theoretical "throw away" gig is treated as life and death.. i felt like at the Glass House he was just fucking all out.. giving 100 percent of his energy. where at Coachella, it was excellent. but the energy level was not quite the same level. some of the screams were softer etc..
basically (i was telling the person i went with this), the Glass House gig is how i would imagine a dream gig to be. like, if i had a wish-fantasy style dream that the Pixies played, it would probably look and sound just like the Glass House show. not to sound cheezy or like i'm exaggerating. but that's honestly how i feel about it.
i just feel lucky to have gone. this'll probably stay in my top 5 gigs of all time for life.
unless i can get Frank to play in my backyard or something. |

apparantly there was a lot of Red Stripe lager going around.
i still got the most excited about seeing Tony Hawk. and knowing i was probably one of the few people who recognized him. and finding out he's a Pixies fan.
by the way, nice beard Dennis. how long you been growin'? |

Was that in the venue? Where were they serving beer?!?!
They didn't serve beer until after the show, there was this whole lounge area type thing backstage. I lucked into the afterparty thru friends of friends. |

Hmm i guess I've been growing it for a few months now. I just got tired of doing the clipper thing so I let it all grow. I need a trim I think though... |
