Ok, first of all kudos to her for all the info,
background information, etc
but that's not why I took the sheer upportunity of
a forum to have a thread about Jo.
some thought:
Who's Jo?
Is she human?
Is she available?
Is she not man? (she is De-Jo!)
Is she weird?
Is she alive, but not as we know it?
Who knows?
What's her last name?
Where did she came from?
Who cares?
What is so special about this Jo:
First of all her name is pretty
Personally I would add a P
(maybe the p would stand for pixies)
but what the hell, we can't be perfect
secondly (is that even a word or am I just sleepy)
she must have some sort of sixth sense for leaving messages when she is needed. For instance, a discussion about levels on pixies cd's, the whole time it's going 'their are to bassy', 'too soft', 'they are great', 'they are fine', etc. Then some guy asks: Shouldn't they be remixed? I would love to have a remastered version.' All of a sudden Jo is there, kindly, sharp, like a bee seeking for honey (ok that's a weird comparison) and pointing out that there were remastered cd's last year, but they were rejected. Bang! and then she leaves and doesn't speak again (except when she is asked to)
The great thing about Jo is that she says things 1 zillion times and never gets cantankerous (Yes I looked that up).
Examples:
-The 4ad got the rights back to the pixies catalog in the US
-That means there not on Elektra
-There is only a new best of because the old one is out of print
-Did I mention there not on Elektra anymore?
-It's Kristin Hersh!!!!! Not Kirsten Hirsch! Don't get me started on
Tonya Donely!
-The remastered cd's were rejected
-No the new DVD is out.......
-The Pixies aren't signed to 4ad anymore
-I don't work for 4AD I work for the Beggars Group
-There's nothing new on the new best of
-There's also nothing new on the digital single
-This site is 4AD related
of course, I'm forgetting lot's of them, but this is just a small proportion of the greatness of Jo.
But wait there's more,
she is not only represented on this forum
but also on the noaloha forum
the Throwing Muses forum, the 50 foot wave forum (I admit, it's the same one)
the Tanya Donelly forum, the 4AD forum and lot's of other band related fora (don't think it's forums you fools, it's fora! Learn your Latin grammar)
man you gonna think she would get paid to do all this!

I second that. Jo also does an excellent job of making all of us on the forum feel like insiders. You know what I mean. We know something that other people don't. We owe a lot of that to Jo. Yeah, it's really cool when Frank jumps online and shares stuff with us too. But Jo's just always there helping out. It's cool. Thanks, Jo!
