I'd say it holds about 5,000 people. GA on the floor, and there are two upper sections of seats that wrap around the venue.

It's a nice size place to see a show. But the acoustics aren't the best. During the few shows I've seen the , the vocals were drowned out by the guitars/percussion.
It seems like every concert review I read arrives at the same conclusion too -- that the acoustics ruin the performance. Here's an example (cached from Google): http://216.239.41.104/search?q=cache:b2PmQXblL4kJ:www.startribune.com/stories/389/4657385.html+bob+Dylan+Roy+Wilkins+Star+Tribune&hl=en&ie=UTF-8
Usually, I try to avoid seeing shows there... but I don't think I can avoid a Pixies show!

ok... that link didn't totally work. If you can't get to it, it's an article from the Star Tribune about the recent Bob Dylan show at the Roy Wilkins. It's called "Concert Review: Poor Acoustics Plague Dylan Show"

Looks like I'll be heading back down to Minneapolis to see them again. After Winnipeg, it seems more people are willing to make the trip with me ;)

New in town... actually new in the country, but hard-fan of TheP. I hope we get nice sound there. I missed the Fine Line and Wilkins is my last opportunity to see them live.

Do you think tickets will go sold out as fast as the other venues?????

Disappointing thing about Roy is that it is possibly the worst venue in the state. The GA is a pain. I'm really feeling sorry for myself for missing them on Tuesday.

This venue is really only built for big sound - Modest Mouse sounded like total crap there a couple of years ago, and I love those guys...Nirvana and the Breeders was the last show there that I actually enjoyed.

Got mine. Man, that search page was slow today. But at least TM was better behaved than it was when I tried to get Winnipeg and Vancouver.

Floor is sold out now. Balcony still available.

Anyone know if there is a difference between FLR1 and FLR2 seats? I got FLR1 but when I just did another search I got FLR2...

Hmm. I got FLR2 on my first try. You just found floor tickets? I guess they're in that grey area where it's sort of sold out but then some people holding tickets don't complete their orders.

I got 4 tickets, not floor however...Ticket Master's server had an error right when it appears it was going to return the page with the tickets..dooohhh! (I had to get back in line, very annoying) Anyhow I have tickets in row C section 218.

I did a search for just a single ticket and got FLR2. That is long gone though, I tried that at about 10:30am.

There is only one floor section, so I don't know what they are talking about....More detailed seating charts here:

I suppose, they could mean something related to the following (stated in their tech document):

Floor (Reserved seats) 1,500
Floor (General Admission) 2,200

But Ticket Master stated that there will be no seats on the floor for this show, so I say floor is floor.

nah, that refers to the type of show. when it's a GA floor, it can hold 2200 on the floor, and when it's reserved floor, it can only hold 1500.

When I bought my tickets there was a limit of 4, now there is a limit of 6. And there still seems to be plenty left.

I also did not get the option to use Ticketfast. Anyone else have that problem??

they rarely have the option to use Ticketfast here in the states (or at least here in Minneapolis)

yup... i am so suprised that one of those snake oil salesmen is not trying to sell bottles of air that the pixies supposedly breathed at their first gig.

i just checked TM and there are still balcony seats avail., so if you don't have tickets yet ... check it out.

$219? That is unbelievable.

The floor did seem to sell out pretty quickly (about 30 minutes or less), but they might have quickly sorted out the multiple-purchase credit cards and released them this afternoon or something.

Crap. I'm gonna need floor tickets somehow. I've been all drugged up and wasn't on the ball this morning. I'm gonna have to read this thread more carefully and figure out what I've got to do.
