This is the new place to talk about the Minneapolis show. Anyone starting something in here will be locked, plain and simple. If whoever was doing the list in the old thread wants to rejuvenate it here, that'd be a great help.

I've always wanted to ask this, but found it useless in the other thread...
Does anyone have a picture link to what the Fine Line looks like? Is it standard concert set-up?

I am a man with 3 fingers...but that doesn't count my index finger nor my thumb.

I put up a picture in the "bad" thread a few weeks ago ... I'll look it up in a bit.

This is the only useful pic I could find on finelinemusic.com:

Note the balcony to the left. That wraps around behind the venue. The picture seems to be taken about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way back, so as you can see it's pretty small and offers plenty of good views. There are flat screen TVs all over, including in the bathrooms, so it will be hard to miss any of the performance.

Also, don't mind the tables. I'm sure it will be an open floor on 4/13.

I was at the Fine Line last night, and nothing has changed there. For an alternative source of news, rumors, and inside information, check out the alternative Minneapolis discussion thread.

Would someone mind posting a link to a map of "that part" of Minnieapolis the Fine Line is in? Yes I'm lazy.
Hey! it smells nicer in this room.

It appears to be a few streets up from the Target Center. 1st ave & 3rd street. I still can't believe that picture - that place is tiny.

HELP! I'm after a favour! I've ordered all the live CDs from disclive.com for myself and a mate. Expensive but worth it!

Unfortunately the Fine Line CDs are already sold out but there will be 500 available to fans on the night. Would any kind person be able to pick me a couple?? I'll pay you in advance obviously!

THANKS! e-mail johnchilton69@hotmail.com

Is there a list of people who want to drive from Minneapolis to Winnipeg?

Also, how long would it take to get from the airport to the venue? I've found a flight that arrives 7:30pm, I think that should be more than enough time right? May not get the best spot but thats okay.

You can get to the venue from the airport in about 20 minutes, give or take a few.

I'm sort of leaning against a big huge caravan in fear that it might slow us down, but so far I've got Solace riding in my car, and MattB and jackanapes will probably be driving right ahead of or behind me. Where you staying, Andy?

I havent booked any reservations yet. Do you mean staying in Minni or Winni? I was thinking the best plan would be to hit the road after the show and get a couple of hours done that night, and find a motel or something.

What are you guys thinking?

My driver said he'd prefer not driving right after the show but who knows. Matts' extended his hospitality us and I think we plan on taking him up on that. Definately plan on an early leave though.

After the show I plan to just start driving west. One reason is I live in Wisconsin, so driving home would be a waste of time and gas. Second reason is to avoid rush hour in the morning. Third reason and most obviously, is to save drive time on Wednesday.

I think we will likely go as far as St. Cloud or so. Motel 6 in St. Cloud is only $35

LoganZ --

I have been told that going to Fargo then heading north from there is the quickest route, since other routes take smaller roads. So, unless someone here suggests otherwise, that is the route I will be taking.

Car #3 (which I will be driving) is a 1990 Gold Honda Civic Hatchback with Pixies stickers on the back. Everybody: If you see this vehicle on the side of the road, please stop and pick my wife and I up! I will be borrowing a cell phone for the trip, so I will email it to the necessary parties before the trip.

As far as this Minneapolis gig is concerned, when is everyone planning to arrive at the venue? We had discussed this in the other thread briefly...now that the date is getting closer maybe we should revisit the issue. The earliest I can really get there with my wife is around 5:00PM. When do you think people will start lining up?

Should we all congregate somewhere and then stand in line together? Someone mentioned a good pizza place nearby...

I'm hoping to be able to get away with getting in line no sooner than 7:00. Since Fine Line is small I don't feel a whole lot of need to be up front, I just don't want to be way in the back. Pizza Luce what was what was suggested ... sounds like a good idea to me.

We could meet at Pizza Luce at 5:30, perhaps? That way we can see if nobody is lined up, and we can eat -- hang out. However if people are already lining up, we could hop a squat in line and do some take-out pizza...

I'd like to get there much earlier than that. I'd like to make sure I can get a CD once I get there. But Pizza Luce is good. If we forumers are going to attempt to congregate together I'm all for that. Pizza and Pixies. Mmmmmmm...

Kromkamp, you're welcome to come with me and jackanapes as well. I'm not bringing anyone with me. Denise will be staying in Winnipeg while I hit the road so if I do have a spot in the car I can dole out then it's yours.

I'm heading to Winnipeg after the Minny show. Just 2 people, Myeself (Chris) and my friend Mike.

The fastest way is Minny to Fargo then North to Winnipeg. The border is open 24hours and the others (like hwy59) are not. Plus Fargo and Grand Forks have 24hour Target stores to stock up on the breakfast cereals we cant get in Canada ;)

I have a potential extra ticket for the Fine Line show to offer up for face value. Interestingly enough I'm looking to see if someone has a lead on a couple Strokes tickets for the first ave gig. (yeah.. yeah insert your strokes $uck comment here, but I'd like to see them at First Ave while I have the chance.) So if anyone can help me out in that department, the pixies ticket it yours.

Oh and if you need a reference, I'm friends with solace so he can back me up :)

email me at travismbecker@hotmail.com if anyone can help.

From what I understand, the proprietary DiscLive process takes 1.21 Gigawatts of electricity to run. It can be powered by plutonium stolen from Libyan terrorists, or from a lucky lightning strike.

Hi,

Just wanted to pass along a friendly warning. In my desparation to get tickets I forked over mucho duckets for two tickets. The plan was I could sell one back on ebay because the original price was so steep.

Today, right after the bid for the single ticket ended (luckily it wasn't sold) Fine Line contacted us to let us know that they had told Ticketmaster to void the tickets. :(

Their reason was that Fine Line had given tickets I had purchased (757 and 758) to a supplier under the condition they not be resold.

Well this wise@** sold the tickets to someone who sold them to me. This is despite what Fine Line says that they told all suppliers from the get-go that any resold tickets would be void.

Basically, Fine line is going on ebay and having the "supplier" tickets voided. A world of caution to those who have bought/will buy tickets on ebay.

Please be sure to know who the tickets came from if you are buying/have bought on ebay.

Also, if any one has a ticket to sell at face value I would be interested... I am broke until I get, hopefully a refund to the guy who sold the bogus tix to me.

This is so frustrating because when I was in HS, my mom wouldn't let me go to their last show in Cincy because it was a 3 hr road trip.

I need a miracle!!!

Well, this is very unsetteling. Will the fact that the ticket I bought is numbered in the 20's make any difference?

Another thing, I noticed the number on some of the tickets selling on ebay and the tickets Daisy bought are in the 750's yet I was under the impression that the capicaty of the club was under 700.
