Don't distress man. I'm sure all things will be resolved in the next hottest thread titled "I got scammed". Hope it doesn't happen to anybody here (almost) but at this rate it seems to be bound to happen. |

I agree. I don't think you should stress out. You should be fine as long as your ticket number was not advertised on ebay. As we figured out with some of the canadian shows, there is no way ticketmaster can find out info about the sellers or buyers on ebay. (Unless of course, the info was provided in the auction). Don't sweat it. |

As far as ticket numbers go... I am pretty sure the vendor tickets that Fine Line is turrning in to ticket master were sold in a block.
There were about 50 of those so I am guessing tickets 750+ would be effected. Also Fine Line is only voiding those sold on ebay within that group that they could distinguish the ticket number either from the picture of the ticket or the item description.
Fine Line seemed concerned about the vendor tickets being resold for super high prices... so if it was on the down low and you bought them at face value... or no one knows you paid more for them you should be cool.
So if you have ticket #20, it is my best guess that you are totally cool.

Wow, it appears that first lucky bidder gets it at face value because of MN state laws, auction doesn't even end for 2 more days. Hope he's a fan.
Does that mean that the Fine Line tickets on ebay going for more than face value are being sold from different states. |

So who wanted to meet at Pizza Luce before the show? I was thinking 5:00 or 5:30, that way we can eat and get in line. That is unless the line is already forming. Standing in line will be much cooler with people we (sort of) know.
Also, my wife is "vertically-challenged" and it would be nice if we knew the people we were standing around at the show so she can actually see!

I'm sure there will be a line forming by 5:00, and I'm sure there will be at least 30 people in that line. It's a matter of how close you want to be, I guess. For me, even if I'm like the 200th person in line I'll feel okay about how close I'll be able to get to the action (especially considering that there is a balcony). But then again, I'm not vertically challenged.
Anyway, unless there are already 500 people lined up, 5:00 sounds great to me for Luce... |

Oh yeah, Le Meridian is the ideal place to stay, proximity-wise. That said, unless you're loaded like Passion is, you can't afford it. |

Well, if people are lining up, we can always get pizza to go and just all jump in line as well. Obviously the place is pretty tiny so people won't have to worry about the view too much, but somehow a really big tall person always stands right in front of you if you're short. I'll just tell my wife we have balcony seats for Winnipeg, so she can SEE the show from there.

Hotel Amsterdam is also close.
Although, I'm not really suggesting that. |

Sorry, I'm not being helpful. There are a few downtown hotels, such as Millenium, Ramada, Hyatt, whatever it is at IDS, and a few others, but I have no idea how pricey they are (although I'm sure hotels.com or Priceline or someplace could get you a decent deal). If you're not staying downtown, I'm not aware of too many hotels that are very close. Although finding a place within 10 miles shouldn't be terribly hard.
I'd offer you a spot on my floor, but that scene is looking pretty tight at this point. |

Thanks for the suggestions anyways. I had assumed there would be a small contingent of hotel dwellers, but maybe not.
Otherwise, I can just find any place and cab it in...

don't speak too soon Logan, the first track on AGIB def doesn't ROCKS, but other than that, there's really very little rockin' after that :). it's definitely a mellow record overall. though you're right, compared to YHF, it is more "rockin'", just not nearly as rockin as some BT and Summerteeth tunes.
i totally hate what they did w/ Spiders however, def the weak spot on the album for me. but it's still a great album, probably my 3rd or 4th fave tho (Being There, YHF, Summerteeth, AGIB, AM)
btw, that Motel 6 in Roseville isn't that nice, not a bad area, but there's a Super 8 near there that's a lot nicer, and prolly not much more.

Yup. You should be fine. Enjoy the show.
(It looks like Daisy Girl might have started some panic).
Sounds like unless you were unlucky enough to buy one of the "vendor" tickets (I don't even know what a "vendor ticket" is?) numbered 750 or higher AND the ticket information was available on ebay, you're golden.
Just in case though, if you "hypothetically" bought tickets on ebay, I wouldn't tell anyone until after the show
(just kidding. you should be fine. I hate that anxiety feeling.)
enjoy the show. I'm jealous.

woah, i just noticed i have a white cat head now, i feel so damn special
btw, i heard yesterday that the Fine Line plans to take out all of the tables (at least downstairs) for the show, and that it's not nearly as oversold as some shows there have been. so that's a good sign.

sorry... didn't mean to start any panic...just wanted to make sure that no one else got screwed like me :)
what the "vendor" tickets are are tickets fine line has given to people that sell them products. Most likely distriubitors and sales people.
What the deal was is that these tickets were given to the vendors under the condition that they would not be resold.
My tickets were...they were bought from someone who bought them from the vendor... fine line traced them on ebay and had them voided.
After working with fine line today... they would more than likely contact you through ebay if your tickets were voided. |

Isn't there a Quality Inn like a 1/2 mile south of the Fine Line on 1st Ave? I stayed there once and it was decent and I think cost somewhere around $80.
Have a look here

I saw 16 Horsepower at The Fine Line last night and no one seemed to have any problems with cameras. You should probably call to make sure though. |

The Fine Line is a truly horrible venue. I re-confirmed this last week, as I will next week. They keep the soundboard ten feet behind and twelve feet above the stage. This brilliant tactic guarantees that any moment of proper balance in the sound is one of sheer luck. |

sorry to have to correct you Diablo, but that board you're speaking of is simply for on-stage audio, monitors, etc.
the house board is along the wall on your right (facing the stage), towards the back. this is where all of the sound that you hear in the audience is controlled form.
have you ever been to a show at First Ave? and have you not ever noticed the soundboard exactly to the right side of the stage? near the backstage door? the one that Randy usually runs? that's exactly the same thing as the one up above the stage at the fine line, it's for on-stage monitors/sound only, the house board at First Ave is straight back, at the very back of the dance floor.
