Just watched Frankenhooker the other night. What a gloriously bad film that was. From prostitutes exploding from smoking the Super Crack to the weird Brain/Eyeball creature, it was non-stop cheesiness and crappiness, but the best kind available. I guess that the interior of the garage is 4 times smaller than the exterior, and that this was indicated as to how it should be in the script. Ya gotta love it when they're planning for something to be bad that far ahead. Very good bad movie.

I just watched Killer Klowns From Outerspace this morning. That was fun, too. I can't believe the budget for that film was 2 million. Okay, so all the costumes and sets would require some money. But I'm just shocked that anyone put up that much money for the film to be made. It didn't come close to making back that money, only brought in a little over $40,000 in theatres back in 1988. But now it's a cult classic, being distributed by MGM, so maybe it's made some money now.

So what other bad movies can you recommend? I'm sure a bunch of Troma films will be mentioned. I've seen a few of those: Tromeo and Juliet, Teenage Catgirls in Heat... they were okay.

Supposedly there's a bad movie about a Slime Bowl-o-rama... I can't remember the entire title, but it sounds good.

Hav'nt seen 'Frankenhooker', but have seen other films by it's director Frank Henenlotter: 'Basket Case', 'Basket Case 3'(missed part 2)and 'Brain Damage'(hilarious, especially Elmer's tune!)Oh yeah, Jim Muro Jr., director of the hilarious 'Street Trash', worked with Henenlotter on 'Basket Case' and 'Brain Damage.' I saw 'Killer Klowns' years ago;it was'nt as good as it looked!'The Toxic Avenger' is another side-splitting gross-out movie. Troma boss Lloyd Kaufman is a very funny man.

All Troma films are hilarious. I particularly enjoyed "Surf Nazis Must Die!".

I just watched a great one tonight by a director who is now well-known. "Bad Taste" by Peter Jackson. It's ridiculously gory. But a helluva lotta fun.

It's great to think that it was directed by the same guy who did The Lord Of The Rings! Jackson took 4 years to make it, with some mates....it's very, very funny. I love when his brains come out and he uses a hatto hold his head together, and the bit where the guy pulls the alien's head off, spine and all! Peter Jackson plays the lead nutter, Derek!("Christ! Derek's gone apeshit!")

Charles Band, the Pope of Direct-To-Video Trash. See Dollman (1991), Demonic Toys (1992) and then Dollman Vs. Demonic Toys (1993).

'Puppet Master' is a great 'killer dolls ' movie. I've only seen the first one, but there's a rake of sequels....actually, I think Band had something to do with that movie, too.

Tartar, it's Sorority Babes In The Slime Ball Bowl-O-Rama you're thinking of. I hope information of this kind doesn't start nudging the important stuff out of my head, like how to tie my laces, or red man means Don't Walk and less women find farting funny than men.

I haven't seen it either but I do remember seeing it on the shopshelf as a preteen and feeling about it the way I do now about Billy Wilder films.

Good when you're a preteen with a fascination with onscreen gruesomeness. I suppose it'd be bad if you wanted a job reviewing for the Times.
