| In "I'm Amazed", is FB singing "before I die, I took my motor" or "before I die, I took my Honda"? It sounds like he says "motor" the Purple Tape, but "Honda" on Surfer Rosa. Is this correct? Also, what does lyric did he use live? |

its 'Mona' i'm pretty sure - got a black francis solo bootleg from 1990 and you can hear it pretty clearly

3rd Annual Australian Frank Black Countdown August 2003 - all involved parties rank EVERY released FB song from FB self/titled to the present - average ranks are calculated - beer (or suitable substitute) is added (mostly in drinking-game form - ie. rate a song well below its average and you drink a punishing amount), then sit back and enjoy a day of frank black....the only problem is quite often memory of the top songs is somewhat limited the next day |

I used to think it was 'honda' but i think it is 'motor'. At least I think I saw it on some website as such. Mebbe not.

| I remember this argument, although it could have been on Abstract Plain or maybe really early on in the forum, but I thought we came to some agreement that it wasn't honda, but I don't know if it was ever really settled. |

There's this really weird version that keeps cropping up, where people think it says "before I died I took my Honda/Too bad it don't got no brakes"... like... WTF??!!!
It sounds like Mona to me too -- definitely not Honda anyway.

Another puzzler....In 'Bone Machine', I'm sure it's 'preachy-preach', but i've seen it transcribed(wrongly, I feel) as 'peachy-peach'. I am sad.

I always thought it meant the character in the song is a kid talking to a priest(like a preacher:preachy-preach?) in a soda fountain type-place, about his problems with girls, and the priest buys him a soda and....trys to molest him in the parking lot, yep, yep! Because he's a child molester who can't control his 'bone machine' or something....???!!!!

When I fist heard the song I tought it was "peachy-peach" but I have since seen it written down a few times as "preachy-preach". So now I assume it is that.
I think I prefer "peachy-peach" though
