Let's face it boys and girls, the begging for tickets has to stop. If you all weren't busy chattin' it up on some stupid homoerotic chat room the day tickets went on sale you wouldn't have anything to cry about. Fact of the matter is this, 750 people are going to the opening show at the Fine Line and you aren't one of them - deal with it an move on. Anyways, aren't Pixies fans all sci-fi geeks anyways? I mean, can't you just imagine yourself at the show with a taser stuck up your ass?
I'd get you all in if you weren't so pathetic.
P.S. Nice kiss and make up Chislic and Dave Matthew's fan. Nothing like airing your dirty laundry.

If you have to guess then you haven't been watching this site for the past month. I have mine for the Winnipeg show but I know some friends that couldn't get. Mn. is out of the question. I'm sure it will be a blast. Winnipeg will be better. We don't get events like this ever and everyone's primed.
Welcome to the Forums. |

Obviously the Winnie show will due but Mpls is where it is at. The Winnie show is assigned seating. Leave it to the Canadians to ruin a Pixies show. |

Very cute. Take no offense to the name, but the mispelling is simply out of disrespect.
Besides, what's with Pixies fans being so grammar conscientious? I thought The Passion and The Calistanian were going to break out the prep books. Nothing says you're a Pixies fan like proper use of the Inglish language. |

What do you think this topic is for? Stop spamming it all up.
Any sellers from the first page want to get this back on topic with an update? I'm assuming your extras are acounted for, but it'd be nice to know if there's even one for the pool.

Screw Minneapolis anyway. I live in Minneapolis, I'm going to both shows, but never mind the assigned seating in Winnipeg ... I'm not looking forward to all the backwards baseball caps at the Fine Line. The Burton Cummings is truly where it's at. Drive 105 can suck it. |

And finally, section C row 2 puts you in the real actual second row. If you still don't understand, that means: two rows from the stage. You're welcome. |

roomloo, i think you're a bit mistaken, while Drive isn't that great of a radio station (it's no Rev 105), i personally know about 2 dozen Pixies/FB fans that are going to this show, and that's just of the people i know personally.
the types of people you're talking about, the backwards hat wearing, DMB-loving, etc. fans, have no clue who the Pixies and/or Frank Black even are, and definitely wouldn't waste $35 to see them. sure there are a lot of fans on here who didn't get tickets, but for everyone 1 fan on here who didn't, i'd be willing to bet there's 2 who did. it's not hard for me to fathom that out of the probably 5-6k Pixies fans in the area (just estimating, in that they could probably sell out Roy Wilkins, while not totally quick, they still could), that of the 500 people who got tickets to the fine line (that's all that were sold), a fairly large % are huge Pixies fans. just because they're not here posting on FB.net, does not make them any less a fan imo.
i think you'll be pleasantly surprised w/ the turnout at the Fine Line
that said, i'm also looking forward to the Winnipeg show as well, cuz i'm guaranteed 2nd row there :)

I heard the 500 figure before too ... anyone care to speculate what they might be doing with the other ~220? Obviously some go to press and employees and stuff ... but there's got to be some sort of fun rumors we could spread.
Probably belongs on the other thread, but come on people, the tone of this thing is really making Minneapolis look bad. Threads for other shows ... yes, even Winnipeg which at one time was every bit as desirable as Minneapolis is now (and to many still is) ... people were so damn civil and NICE to each other. I guess it only takes a couple of assholes, but goddam. Some of you should move to Texas or something. |

By the way, just an innocent question out of curiosity, but there are clearly a lot of people who have posted only in this thread, and only to ask for tickets and/or harrass other people. Tons of people with only one post to their name, the "I need tickets!" post. Why? Do you not feel the need to give something to the community in exchange for the really unbelievable thing they would be doing for you if you did somehow get tickets? Or is this just a "I'll just put my name down just like the lottery, then I'll just sit back and wait for the tickets to come rolling in" sort of thing?
Second, where were all of you when Winnipeg was going down? Did you all just get tickets to Winnipeg and that's why you weren't so desperate as to post on these forums about needing tickets? Or is Winnipeg just not convenient enough for such a die-hard Pixies fan as your own bad self?
Is it just coincidence that so many people heard about fb.net for the very first time when they found out they didn't have tickets to Minneapolis?
Doesn't apply to a lot of people on here, so don't be offended ... if you're offended then this probably doesn't apply to you. Just trying to get a feel for who it does apply to. Since I'm a neutral party here with nothing at stake in this thread, I figure better me than someone else.
Seriously, the people posting in the Winnipeg/Vancouver/Boise/what have you threads brought an unbelievable boom to fb.net, they were posting all over asking about hotels, offering tips to others on how to get tickets, asking for advice, even writing posts just about the PIXIES, and by comparison, the Minneapolis people look pretty damn aloof and selfish. Just an observation. |

i guess that maybe you are talking about me a little bit? i just don't want to keep begging, so i put my name in as soon as i could and now i am waiting to see how lucky i can get. has anybody done a count of likely spare tickets to go along with our nice long list of needed tickets? perhaps i will try to do that later. anyways, thanks to anyone who is willing to sell their extras to fans for a reasonable price! it just makes me proud to be a pixies/fb fan seeing how nicely ticket trading has gone for all the shows so far.
and now i'm living in the cold but i'm looking for the sign |

I heard, from a very reliable source in the Minneapolis music scene, that the Fine Line was NOT going to release any press tickets or comp tickets. My source is a musician who plays with Prince. I asked him for help as a "last resort" as I don't like to take people up on the promises for a favor unless is it absolutely necessary. He is talking to the pixies promotional manager today and I will update the forum as to what the "F" is going on at the Fine Line. If this doesn't work out...I'm back to square one...watching downloaded pixies videos from Kazaa all by my lonesome while methodically plotting the revolt against scalpers and e-bay nazi's. |

surferben, I don't know if that was directed at me but what I said sure as hell wasn't about you. I've seen you participate in forums before, we've exchanged e-mails -- heck, everybody, surferben has even CONTRIBUTED Winnipeg tickets at face value to other users on this forum -- so surferben is an example of what everyone should be aspiring to here.
Anyway, different topic. LoganZ, please put me down as a contributor. However, all I can say is that I will have as few as zero and as many as four tickets to contribute. I think the most likely number is 1 or 2, though. I can't give an ETA on knowing for sure, but hopefully by around April 1 or so. I need to wait on some potential trades, getting in touch with people I haven't been able to get in touch with, etc.
Havalina and solace, any updates from you guys? I'm sure you're about in the same boat as I'm in, but just checking. |

The Calistanian, Thanks for pointing out a typo in my earlier post. I corrected it. I really appreciate the assistance of a sophist like yourself in this ultimately significant endeavor. As for the other grammatical "error" you pointed out, you might just want to put that clever lil' brain of yours to work a mite bit harder. Incidentally, in your grossly disappointing misuse of "i.e." in the parenthetical in your helpful post, you committed a choice grammatical error by neglecting to use an all-important comma to follow the Latin abbreviation.
And if you would have taken note of my reply more closely you would see that I said: "I'm just teasing ya". BTW, I don't know how you can deny that "don't not" is an error. I mean, the two "nots" cancel each other out, and gets your point across correctly, but it's still bad grammar. Plus you utilize what's called "gobbledy-gook", where you cram many big-sounding words into a small space, so that you sound intelligent. OHHHHHH! My brain hurts.
I'm still just teasing ya though!

i've definitely got some tickets available for fb.net, but i can't say how many. more than 1, how's that? 1 for sure is going to Logan, i had lined up the others, but Marble & Porkbone both said they probably don't need em, so i'd say on top of Logan i should have at least 1 more, maybe more.

The story I heard was 500 tickets went to Ticketmaster and the other 220 were sold at the Fine Line. As far as I know, this is true. My friend who got our tickets went downtown that day to get them. They weren't actually sold AT the Fine Line, but at their corporate office somewhere nearby (I didn't get the whole story). According to him, he followed another guy in who bought 5, he then asked, "how many do you have left?" The guy said 5, so he bought the last 5. I think that was about 3 o'clock that day. |

I got four or five (my pick) of the extra 220 tickets for the Minny show. I don't know where the rest went. I'm more concerned, however, about free drinks for me. Why did I only get 28-35 free-drink tickets? I may actually be able to comprehend Joey Santos's guitar lines if I'm not wasted on scotch. The mere possibility is troubling . . . almost problematic. |

Hey Passion-meister --
I will trade you your five extra tickets for some of my free drink tickets and an autographed picture of Sheryl Crow. You know you can get more tickets from your raquetball partners anyway. How about it?

All right guys now its on. Its only been 24hrs since I last posted and apparently everyone likes to take shots at me when I'm not around. The reason I ever even checked out this forum and topic was to see if I could lend a hand with the extra tickets I have for the Minnie show. That's a nice enough idea right? However, I was so devastated by the lameness of this whole thing I just couldn't bring myself to offer up the tickets. This is so stupid. I thought Pixies fans were cool but apparently they are all chat room junkies that have a cozy little room at mom and dad's place and a job unimportant enough to hack the web all day. I think the Pixies would be disgusted by the irrelevance of this. Besides, no one would even give a rip about this show/tour if they hadn't broken up and Kim Deal hadn't released Last Splash (she's the real star). If the Pixies had stayed together they would have release a bunch of terrible albums (see Frank Black post Teenager of the Year) and would be opening for Vince Neil on the where are they now tour. Sorry, but realty sucks. |
