He's playing for some new kids on the block now
No more time for the faithful servants who followed him in his quest, when the weather was sunny but also when the weather was stormy, through the wind and the snow and the rain.
We used to learn every single master's word by heart - I even started eating salade lyonnaise
But there are no words any more, just the official record label white noise
Master! Master! Why have you abandoned us?
Have some wine, please, don't run away. |

Your tears are mine, Adnie.
Let's cry and weep together.
Let's sing our favorite anthem again:
Brother Frank
Far off in the distance I can hear the Coachella bells Beside Radiohead there stands A guy (I thought) I knew so well As I get closer I can feel a chill He's changing his name from Frank Black to Mr. Black Francis
Black Francis, can you hear the words I'm saying Black Francis, can you hear me while you're playing
I can still remember When he said rumors were true He said we'd meet again someday in the hills of central France The Catholics have stopped singing I no longer hear of Massif Central(e) He changed her name from Frank Black to Mr. Black Francis
Black Francis, am I really gonna lose you? Black Francis, does Kim need you more than I do?

OK, my turn, now :
The Reunion Bend
Oh Charlie, what you give to me Little heartbreaker, mercy me His eyes are blue, and his head is bold Everything was new, everything is old
I've seen you last year and I hope it's not the end I've seen you round the Reunion bend
I was broken and you fixed me up You turn my stereo into a space shuttle I was lost and now I know where it's at I started eating salade lyonnaise and now I'm a little fat
Where are you going, who did you befriend I've seen you round the Reunion bend
Have some wine, please, don't run away. |

The Song Oracle has been shot by crazed Pixies fans. Or maybe by Kim. I'm not totally sure which.

Has he really abandoned us, though? Just recently he started a thread asking for thoughts on the Catholics b-sides albums. Seems like even though the Pixies are shining a bit brighter right now, he's still dedicated to dishing out the Catholics, too.

I agree with you, prozacrat. Frank is a prolific guy, and I think he's quite capable of being in two bands at once. He might not be touring with the Catholics for a little while, though. None of that explains what happened to the Song Oracle, though.

Let's think positively, people. The year is still young.
The way I see it, Frank and the Catholics have put in too much time and have too much chemistry at this point to end over this. Frank's been working Scott and Dave for almost 9 years now.
And am I the only person who quietly speculated that the reason Rich Gilbert was here looking for a "Valley of Our Hope" mp3 is that he might possibly be having to relearn it soon?
Don't worry about what you don't know. We've been told very little about the future. You guys are stumbling in the dark. |

"Frank Gone"
He could not play That great song Dog Gone Couldn't get no bass line from McCaffrey Then a voice in the Pixies said "You got to play Alison"
And the news is gonna break The news is gonna break The news is gonna break when Kim is here
Out along the tour, Frank played some old songs He had some business there and made some dough Then a boy in the audience said "You got to play Wave of Mutilation!! Wooo!! Yeah! PLAY WAVE!!!"
[Chorus]

Somebody explain the Song Oracle, please. I've caught a lot of discussion on here, but I can't seem to remember anything about that, besides vague references here and there.

The song oracle started every day a new topic about one Frank Black song. The last song was Bad, Wicked World, see http://forum.frankblack.net/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5984

Has it ever been spelt out to us who Puppaduck is?
There were rumours that it was Joey, and various people 'in the know' indicated that they...er, 'knew' the identity of puppaduck...
?

I believe they were called "Underoos". It came with a T-shirt and underwear. I had Yoda "Underoos". Also, Superman ones. Although with the Superman ones, you could put the underwear over your regular pants, and you would look just like Superman!

You made a mistake, Woodworm. I wear exclusively Walt Disney underwear, and I jerk off to the Financial Times. Don't worry, you were almost right.

Watch it. Mommy told me that big boys who wear Star Wars undies and touch the no-no place when looking at her fashion mags are SPECIAL. That's right...SPECIAL. So that means you too.

Talking of spider man, I bought to comics tday, one from 1979, and one from 1980. Ones spidey, and one the hulk. they are great.
And i think people who get upset over silly things on the forum are the ones more likely to be wearing star wars underwear.
Purlease, we wear 2001:space... underwear. Obviously.

Frank Black is a superhero who can woo women with a chord and melt lead with an affected gaze. He can lift an 80-story building with his left hand while playing guitar solos with his right. The Pope calls him for advice. He invented the robot and the Tunnel of Love. Jesus asked him to join his band. He discovered the secrets of alchemy. He invented Cheet-ohs and malt liquor and French fries.
Whatever. Just keep making music, man! |

What the hell are you people rambling about? Why would you think Frank would ditch The Catholics? He seems to be really happy to be playing with the band that got him to where he is now, why can't we be happy for him? He went thru a divorce not to long ago and was down for a while and now he's happy again. Let the man be happy. As long as we get our fill of Black some how, isn't that what really matters?
Now if I can get Danny Elfman to reunite with Oingo Boingo, my life will be complete. _____________________________________________________________________________________
