i just heard this and it's a pretty rad cover. what was this released on? a single?
it'd be interesting to hear him cover the whole album, cause the style he does it in is great.

It's the 2nd track of the 'Dog Gone' single.

I dug out my old stuff last week, and I listened to that single again, did'nt know who it was until informed by my brother....I don't recall hearing the original, but the Specials have some great songs. I think they're still on the go.

Specials are still on the go but (I'm pretty sure) without Terry Hall and Jerry Damners who were two of the key members. The Specials are up there with Pixies and FB&C as one of my favourite groups of all time. To me they sound mysterious and haunting just like the Pixies did. And their Ghost Town performance on Top of the Pops was the best ever (including Starman)!

But not mad on FBs version of Do nothing - it could do with some EDF keyboards I think

I have it on the "I Gotta Move" CD single (along with "Humboldt"). I'm not all that keen on this cover. The original version really captures the apathy that the lyrics describe. Making it a hard rock song loses that for me.

When Frank was on 120 Minutes on MTV years ago, he picked 'Ghost Town' as one of the video selections!

It just came up on YouTube. I like it (though I don't know the original).

I was just thinking about FB's version of "Do Nothing" the other day while I was walking to work. I lost some of my Catholics CDs and I'd forgotten how great the song is.
