I feel bad for the parents and the child. I hope they can come to terms with what sex they decide the child to be, but it still sounded like even the child was still not sure. It looks like a hard road ahead for all of them. I'm sure there'll be many "jokes" made about this that are "funny". Everyone here is a comedian. Maybe it's because I am around the age that I eventually want to start having children. I would hope and pray that they will be healthy and have all correct parts for their sexual assignment. I can't imagine a more painful experience than carrying a child for nine months (hopefully) and knowing that something was seriously wrong with the baby. You have to have a lot of love and strength and understanding to make it through something like that. Here's hoping that everone here who is about to have a child or who plans to have a child or who have children that they are/will be healthy and whole and complete or that they have the strngth and help to deal if not.

That's intriguing....have any guys out ther ever had a problem with sore, tender, nipples? I think that has something to do with oestrogen or something....funnily enough, beer increases your oestrogen levels. I've had that nipple prob. and I know a couple of other guys who have....I also have quite long eyelashes, but I don't think that qualifies for gender-bending! Seriously, though, it must be a very emotional, frustrating thing for someone to go through.

I really think it's awful when they choose a sex for them. You've got a 50% chance of getting it wrong! They choose one or the other because they think life will be easier for the kid i.e. in the gym locker room, but it doesn't usually make their lives easier, just more confusing.
I heard somewhere that some scientists believe there are actually six sexes instead of two. I can think of Male, Female, Hermaphodite, Neuter, and then maybe inbetween male and herm; female and herm.

This is thought provoking. This reminds me of the movie "It's Pat", although it is certainly not a comical situation. Can Kelli be impregnated?

Why is the child 'wrong', since that's the way it was born?

I also don't agree with choosing for infants, like the infant/person themselves have no say in it. I think that they probably choose according to which way is easier to surgically alter.
I would guess they mean all the different combinations you could come up with, with chromosomes... |

Hmmmmm...I expected this topic to have more replies. Re-reading this, I wonder if Jason actually wants to have children. |

Oh - and are they any subscribers to Time on this forum who wouldn't mind logging in, copying the text, and pasting it onto a post in this thread so that I may imorally cheat the system? Yes, I'm cheap. I rarely spend money. I haven't gotten a haircut in quite some time.
Of course - we've written down FB interviews from magazines before without having to pay for the magazines. But I am open to the possiblity that there is something that I am not seeing. |
