Winnipeg was the proverbial bomb last April.
Yeah, I remember that the city was really sandy and dusty from the melted snow, revealing all the sand that the city had put down for traction. |

Yeah, I hear you on that. Here we were enjoying spring for a week and now 10 cm snow drifts and other good stuff.
Ahh, this is the price we pay to keep our country from becoming suburbia.

I am so sick of the snow here. I'm just glad I'm heading to California next week for the U2 concerts in San Diego :) I bet there's no snow there.

i just watched it as well. first guy maddin flick i've since. it was pretty funny in a strange/bizarre way. i knew it got some good reviews but didn't realize how much. it made a few critics top 10 lists for best films of 2008..time, globe and mail..
i particularly liked when they were talking about the urinal troughs in the winnipeg arena.
i recently saw emily haines perform in town and she was talking about guy maddin and the "saddest music in the world". i want to check that one out next.
