hey gkd & co. i'm in a funny position in regards to the single-ticket-then-lottery proposal. mine's the first name on the post-sale list, so if that's the pecking order, i win. on the other hand, that's a pretty arbitrary distinction, and nobody wants to keep anybody else from a pixies show. the thing is, in my case, the second ticket is kind of a make-or-break thing. i'll be travelling hundreds of miles to get there, in my buddy's car. without a ticket for him, i don't know how i'd convince him to cart my ass that far. so if we went through with your proposal, i'd really be waiting with baited breath to see if i got the extra ticket. if i didn't, i'd have to figure out if i wanted to be magnanimous and let him go instead of me ('cause he's the ride,) or bribe him into getting me there so he could wait outside while i was rocking, or just flushing the whole idea of seeing winnipeg. i guess everybody's gonna have a different scenario, and maybe just one ticket for some folks won't be as apocalyptic as it is in my case. and i'm constantly reminding myself that the only reason i've got even a slight chance of seeing this show, is because of the kindness of people i've never met. bottom line is, i'll take what i can get, and be greatful. would love to hear other peoples' takes on this, there's no reason why this thread shouldn't be 76 pages long by april 14. peace.

Maybe one way we could do this is get info as to where all the tickets are located in the venue ... then each post-sale buyer can indicate whether or not they will settle for just one; if they settle for one, they get the best seat available, but if they go for two or more, they get the worst seat available. I have a feeling people might keep going for the max anyway, though ... although I can see consideration to other people being an additional motivation to settle for one.
Just a thought... maybe post-sale people could give some feedback as to which they would choose in such a scenario, and if enough people would settle for one we could just go with that... |

It's taking me longer to collect all my tickets than I thought it would. Moving helped delay things a bit and the people I have picking up the tickets for me now have it in the back of their mind that they have to get the tickets since a bit of time has passed. I picked my 4 up today and am expecting 6 more tomorrow. Hopefully by the end of the week I will have all of them in hand.

Okay Ediger -- just to clarify (sorry, it's hard to search back 19 pages), are you saying you're just willing to settle for one if you have to, or you just really need only one? I'll assume the latter, but let me know if I'm wrong.
Thanks- Dave |

I know this keeps getting pushed back, but based on MattB's and the Calistanian's posts, I think we can nail down a date to do this lottery. This Saturday. It might slip a day or so, but let's do our best to have our stuff together by then. I think that just means re-confirmations, info from those "tentative" sellers, and any geographic information that might be helpful (still haven't heard from a small handful of people).
And hey, I'm certainly not going to ASK for a third round of seller confirmations, but feel free to do so anyway ... we won't stop you :) |

Oh, and gkd ... since it's looking like those post-sale people might not be checking the board much these days, you might want to try e-mailing a few of them individually about your proposal to dole out tickets one at a time. We also need to consider that some people like johnny_4_president won't be able to go at all unless they have two tickets, and maybe also my proposal of just giving the best seats to those willing to settle for just one ... the way it's looking the outcome of this distribution might end up being decided by the whims of a very small group of people if we don't start hearing some opinions... |

I have four tickets that I would rather sell togeather in one shot. Its just easier. So I say that whoever needs four I would be matched up with them. I am from Michigan. |

I have three extras, up on the second balcony. If anyone wants to sell me one of theirs on the first balcony or floor, I'll put up all four of mine to make up for the lost ticket. It's only me, so there's only a need for one ticket. I just want to sit a little closer. If not, I really could care less, but it's worth a shot. |

We'll try and accommodate you Ed, the only thing is that we just have one person needing four and they're pretty far down the post-sale list -- it's unlikely they will be getting four.
What we could do is I or someone else needing two could buy your four and then re-sell the remaining two to someone else needing two ... we'll figure something out. Usually the customer is always right, but I think in our situation, it's the seller who calls the shots... |

And Havalina, if I could have your location info that would be great ... then we'd have pretty much everyone figured out location-wise, at least as far as the confirmed buyers and sellers. |

Wow, I'd like to know who all these Minnesotans with tickets are ... maybe my geographic list is wrong? All I have down for Minnesota besides Solace is buyers (except for Porkbone who is just across the state line in Wisconsin). Who else should I have? |

Anybody interested in flying from Saskatoon? Just considering this at the moment, but if I did I'd have two empty seats. Flight time would be about 3 hours and drive time is about 8 with no stops (so prolly 9-10). I'm not looking for commitments at this point (since I'm not even commit myself) but just people who think they'd like to.

Something is fucked up with ticketmaster again. I went with the guy at my work who managed to get two tickets for me and they told us that something si blocking giving out the tickets in the systema nd to come back next week. This doesn't make any sense though because I picked up my tickets yesterday.
This was really cool though! As we were standing in line to get the tickets there was this guy in front of us. We had the confirmation sheet out and he noticed it and said you're getting tickets for the same thing as me. Well it turned out it was Kromkamp from this board (he posted earlier in the thread). Weird coincidence. It felt odd too because it's the first time I ever saw someone I knew from online in person.

Hey Matt--
Were your other friends able to pick up any tickets? If you're 6 short we should have enough to dole out to the original pre-sale list before next week. It's up to you, though.

Hey roomloo
I'm still waiting to hear from them. I still only have 4 tickets. Two people said Thursday and one other said to call her after work so I might have 4 more today. The last person I have to talk to still about when they can pick up. This fucking delay from ticketmaster has screwed everything up, I had everything perfectly planned out with everyone to pick up on the original day but now it's in chaos.

It's okay Matt ... luckily Ticketmaster's fuckups are only making us antsy, while in reality we've got almost six weeks before the show. Things will work out soon, everyone! |

Awesome. Thanks, Kelly.
Also, since I'm forgetting ... was I waiting on a re-confirmation from you based on your getting your tickets in hand, or are you still waiting to see what to do with your extra ticket?
Thanks, Dave |

Everything recently in this thread has been about tickets and acquiring and that's cool because I still need two. I've been trying to think of how the fans can show their appreciation for the first show. Should we bring signs indicating all the places that we've come from to be there? Should we tack on the songs we want them to play? Is that too cheesy (sorry Porkbone1). Should we find out who's doing the catering and one up them? This is Winnipeg. We can do perogies, cabbage rolls, rye bread and reubans. Am I stretching? Let me know. |

For some reason that doesn't worry me too much. Even if the California people get a Pixies show first, they won't get the experience of joining in with almost 2000 other people trekking from near and far KNOWING well in advance they are seeing a Pixies show. We are seeing the very first Pixies show that is a bona fide EVENT, billed as a Pixies show from the start. The Cali people might get an unforgettable experience, but for some reason I won't feel that cheated, because in some certain way we would still be the first. |

Seeing as I could NOT get tickets to either the Winnipeg show or the Spaceland show, I have no vested interest in this either way.
(other than the fact that my ******ultimate dream******** was to see the pixies on stage together for the FIRST time since their breakup)
but I agree, I think the "breeders" shows are very very suspicious!
they are taking place in the right place, at the right time.
I'm so convinced of it that I shopped for a plane ticket this morning, but was SO BUMMED TO FIND OUT THAT SPACELAND HAD SOLD OUT ALREADY!
I dunno. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
(At least they'll play gigantic)
