the maple syrup? the seal meat? the opressively cold weather? i'm just curious..
i've never been to Canada and i've heard it's a beautiful place, but why this love-affair with the place? wouldn't you rather do a warm-up tour somewhere where it's, well, warm? |

I have been hearing rumors, some of them from this forum, that Pixies will return to tour the US after their frolicking in Europe.

Dan Akroyd was funny for a little while. Then he wasn't. Noble experiment, Canada - we know you tried with that one.

they need a pixies show in DENVER!!
I just moved to Denver from Dallas and frank black / pixies are alot bigger than i thought here. The other day my Surfer Rosa started skipping (again) so I had to go purchase another one, when I went to the local cd store ALL pixies and frank CD's were sold out. So I went home with no surfer rosa, or nadine single.

Yep.
There were rumors going around that they'd be playing Fenway park, but I've been systematically stifling them by saying they haven't even scheduled the east coast yet.
I bet they could fill Fenway though...

"Nothing good ever comes out of Canada." Why would we let the good go? Anything that filters it's way through our system is simply shit into the States for the Americans to gobble up and ruin. Where's Conan this week. Canadian guests as well. Maybe Frank can feel his Native roots when he is up here? Plus we have a great sense of humour and spell words correctly! Au revior!

The roots he sings about in Manitoba. We are all Native or Aboriginal in some way. Even the Americans. Except you deported poor Louis Real in 1869.

if you wanted to make that argument, then wouldn't Frank feel closest to his roots doing shows in Africa? i mean, that's where it really all wen't down.. unless you wan't to go further back to like, single cell organisms and stuff.
the Native Americans who migrated north must have been lost because why would you go out of your way to freeze your ass off? |

I think it is fantastic that Frank has decided to play these shows. I think the reason might be is because the people who make it out to a show in Saskatoon are probably pretty fuckin' psyched to see a band of any kind (besides the hometown shite!) The people in the Prairies are more-than-likely real people with a real purpose to have fun and listen open-mindedly. This said in opposition to the gathering of people he might find in a mega-city like Toronto where people come out to be seen and be part of the scene. Just a guess? Would be like playing a show in Montana or Wyoming I suppose?

The Catholics actually released the recorded version of four songs from their show in Regina last year. One of the Nadine singles.

Or maybe he could play keyboards for them.
