I own a cd copy of CULT OF RAY I obtained for $5 (!) sealed and mint (it is now opened, thank you very much) which is a Japanese import (I still have the Japanese paper spine and all contents which include translated lyrics and a sticker of a scale). The only difference from American version is that it has a clear tray (with picture of the faces) and an extra track of Men in Black live. Is this a common cd? I have imports of DITS, PISTOLERO, and FB & C's (st), which seem to be easy to find, but I've never seen this COR, except for my own. Would love to hear feedback. Thanks!

Being the overlord of the database, and having dug through many a website seeking out all of the FB albums I can find, this is the first time I've heard of such an album existing. Does that answer your question? Thanks for informing me! :) Do you have access to a scanner? Could you scan the back cover, and back of the booklet? Or at least give me the label, release year, and catalog # of the CD? I'd very much appreciate it.

A friend of mine found Cult of Ray at a thrift store the other week for $1. Now he lords it over me, hopefully he'll be giving it to me for Christmas... I can dream at least.

So now that we're on the topic of Cult Of Ray should I order the double cd? What's on it? Etc? |

I have the double disc. The second disk has Village of the sun, Baby that's art, and 2 more tracks that ecape me at the moment. But it also has the clear backing with the faces showing through the CD tray. |

El Barto...cool! It's cool to know I have something of interest! :) I unfortunatley have no scanner or cam, but if you give me a day, I will be happy to send you the catalog/barcode # and release year. I am in moving transition right now and need to dig for it in a box. But other than the clear tray, the appearance is the same as US version. Everything's the same as the American Recording's original 1996 and 1999 release/rerelease. But give me a few, and I will get that for you. Payce!

I thought that this album was readily available. My friend and I both own the Japanese version. Crazy. I paid ten dollars for it and have never really given it much thought.

Maybe I'll get both. Where can you buy Oddballs from? |

Is the picture under the clear tray the same as the picture of the inner sleeve of the vinyl COR (picture provided at this link: http://www.geocities.com/nageretep/index3.html)?
Sorry about the blurriness of the picture; my shutter speed was slow and I accidentally moved the camera a bit as the picture was being taken. It helps to stand back and squint whilst viewing the image. |
