Me and my wife are planning on driving the 3 and a half hours to the Vermont one. I have a friend that lives near there!
Kind of wondering if it's possible to have our baby with us. The venue is a small church. If he cries my wife said she'll walk him around outside.
This is a very exciting time to be a Frank fan. The mind spins at what songs he might perform. Perhaps some of those 40 country songs that were gutted for Doggerel, etc?

Was just in Brattleboro this past August - first time in 20 years or so - some sketchy elements and a lot of closed businesses. I highly do not recommend eating at Shin-La. Have fun!
Brattleboro is a nice town. Putney is fairly close to Brattleboro to the north and is a bit nicer.
The issue with Brattleboro, and any other large town or city in Vermont, is that they are the only places that provide services for folks who are struggling with addiction and other issues. So it does bring those type of people in, which can increase the amount of sketchy-ness.
Still a nice town. Have not been there recently enough to suggest food, but there have always been some good restaurants there.

Yikes! Sounds like Seattle which is that strange mix of super nice and a fucking nightmare.
Restaurants: I'm gonna be real here, all I care about is where to get great coffee, and great pizza. I'm into donuts too when I travel. Those are my concerns.
Anyway, god I am excited about this. I can't believe within a few months I'll see Frank solo, a Teenager of the Year show, and a Bossanova/Trompe show. What more could I want??
Incredibly excited. I am sure you can find a very nice cup of coffee and almost definitely a nice donut. As far as pizza, depends on what you like. I am sure there is a woodfired pizza place somewhere in Brattleboro, but you ain't getting a good NY style pie.
I'm really considering doing a 3 hour drive also myself to Vermont. That would be the first acoustic FB show I'd see in what must be 6-8+ years at this point. Considering the drive I'd maybe get an air bnb nearby or something and explore Vermont a little too.
Me and my wife see things like this as basically "excuses" to go travel. Like that's actually part of the appeal, that the concert is in some faraway town we've never explored. We don't have money to fly to Paris or anything but we can make tons of fun for ourselves driving 3 hours and checking out some record stores or something.
Part of me wants to take tons of video and post to the forum to tell you the setlist but part of me JUST WANTS TO WATCH THE SHOW! We'll see...I'll probably take a few videos??
HEY EVERYBODY! Wow! I am on a high from that show.
Stone Church is a tiny, beautiful venue. Me, my wife and my friend who lives near the area were RIGHT UP FRONT, like 4 feet in front of Frank. It was surreal to be that close to him, especially as the last show we saw was a Pixies stadium show in Forest Hills.
Frank was in typically fun solo mode: telling funny stories, being loose and improvisational, messing songs up, joking around a lot. It was absolutely a pleasure.
SETLIST SPOILERS...
So the good news for all of you is I video recorded the ENTIRE show, with my phone in my front pocket, it's basically like, a perfect video (though I'm not sure of the sound quality yet.) It's very slowly uploading to youtube now.
Almost every album was represented! Nothing from Devil's Workshop (though Whiskey In Your Shoe was on his list of songs to the side of him! Which my friend took a photo of...), nothing from SVN FNGRS or The Golem or Fastman Raiderman. But I think everything else?!?
From memory (I can't interrupt the youtube upload on my phone), songs he did, not in exact order:
666 I Burn Today Los Angeles I Heard Ramona Sing Back to Rome California Bound The Swimmer Western Star was attempted twice but given up on after one line Test Pilot Blues was attempted and given up on Calistan (told a story about him and his brother calling a beach near them Cigarette Butt beach when they were kids, "I think my dad left all the cigarette butts there.") Headache The Vanishing Spies Big Red Superabound Space Is Gonna Do Me Good Abstract Plain Horrible Day Manitoba Monkey Gone to Heaven Where Is My Mind (he made a point of saying he'll do this for those that showed up only to hear it) Holiday Song Planet of Sound (ended the show) Cactus (he spelled out "B-L-A-C-K F-R-A-N-C-I-S") Mercy Me Dead Man's Curve Wheels Burnt Out Rock n Roll Brackish Boy (attempted but given up on) Men in Black Vegas Suite
I swear I think that's everything. But you'll see in the YouTube video!
Songs we saw on his list that he didn't play: Velouria, Who's More Sorry Now, Head On...I'll have more when my friend sends me that photo.
Whew! My head is still spinning. I feel incredibly lucky that I got to see this.
I was continually stunned throughout the show. I extra appreciate Frank's solo work since he's devoted so much time to only Pixies in recent years.
I was staring at his hands the entire show (something Frank made a joke about with all the front row people "stealing his tricks") and just in awe at his songwriting and all the chord progressions and riffs etc. I mean watching him play Ramona, that's a damn complex song.
BTW: My wife just told me she recorded the show audio on her phone. If her audio is better than what's on my video, I may stop the youtube upload and marry the audio to my visual for the better video. I'll be able to compare tomorrow.
