Allright, John and Mary are off the island pursuing other interests. Round three starts now:

Ernest Evans, enjoyable but kind of filler too

Hypnotised.
The verses make me cringe. Miley Cyrus is very apt. And that's not what I want to hear on a Pixies album. |

I like that one, because it's so weird. I do think it's also kind of annoying. Keep Pixies weird

It has a few seconds of weirdness. That doesn't make it weird. It's stunningly average for 90% of the song. |

Yeah, maybe. But to me it combines a lot of average stuff (at least three) in one song. The super pop beginning, with the super country chorus that feels out of place with the feel of the rhythm and the creepy "I've been hexed" parlando bit with the four on the floor.

Hypnotized - the lyrics sink the song (like "Hear Me Out", another non-Charles lyric). |

You know what, even though I enjoy Hypnotised, in looking at the list of survivors I like them all so much that I'm happy to jump on the Hypnotised bandwagon to make this round more of a straightway process
Also, just looked up that spelling it with an "s" is indeed a UK thing. I don't know if that is coincidental or Frank-incidental, but either way it's a bit of extra interestingness for me |

Getting trickier now, but You're so Impatient sticks its head above the parapet slightly. |

Maybe You're So Impatient. Maybe Mercy Me. I need to listen to Mercy Me again - I can't remember what it sounds like. |

The wait is over, You're So Impatient is gone.
Getting a little harder now, who gets your next vote?

The wheat has now been separated from the chaff.
I'll go with Ernest Evans. I'm a fan, but it's the slightest of the remaining songs. |

Can't go with Ernest Evans, it is a top Pixies 2.0 song for me.
It's not easy but I'll have to go with The Vegas Suite |

This is really difficult at this point
I'm caught between Ernest and Prairie, but I enjoy them both very much
I'll decide tomorrow and then we can have the next round start this weekend I guess |

I cant get my head around that. Do you consider Crackity Jones to be a song? I consider Evan its long lost (and much older) brother. |

Crackity has a more traditional verse - chorcus - verse - chorus structure I believe Ernest only has verses and instrumental breaks

Confused about the comparison here.
Crackity Jones has incredibly original chords and melody. Like many early Pixies songs, it's kind of unfathomable.
Ernest Evans, the vocal parts, is just this repetitive blues thing you can hear in a billion other songs, with barely anything else. I'm just not seeing much original expression there. |
