if this is a co-headlining tour i would assume it's back to the same old doolittle+ set list and they're not going to be doing the bossanova/trompe set?

Yes, I would think so. I saw them on last year's leg. Lots of Doggerel as well, I guess there is a chance we could be getting new songs on this tour if the next album release is immanent.

Holy smokes are the Toronto tickets expensive... I think I'll wait to see if the they go cheaper on the secondary market in the lead-up.

Very frustrated. They are playing a few blocks from where I live but it's the Modest Mouse thing, which I have zero interest in. Oh well.

Maybe they want to see how well the album tour goes down before arranging any more dates?

That's a pretty tight schedule, rapid fire like a Pixies setlist

Like Trouble, the one in NY is not far from me but really doubt I'll go.

The next two shows in The Netherlands are in august and they are BossaTrompe Shows
At least that's what the venue writes on the website
I doubt it though, seems to good to be true

And I've checked some other Euro dates and none of the venues write about it that way

I'm probably going to the Toronto show, so pleased to see that!

Looks like the Paz era songs are done? All the Saints had been played at pretty much every show since Head Carrier.

These are turning out to be the setlists most of us were hoping for back in 2004/05!

Took us 20 years, but our prayers have been heard!

Last night they played 6 songs from Bossanova and even Death Horizon ( a modern classic). The Happening is played as often as Where is my mind in 2024, so far.

Good to see Planet of Sound (always a blast) and Moterway on the list.

When I saw Pixies on the 2010 tour they performed 9 tracks from Bossa+Trompe. Hopefully these songs stay in the rotation but I imagine once the new album is out sacrifices will be made.

if this setlist is accurate, they opened Cincinnati with isla -> happening. holy smokes!

https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/pixies/2024/the-andrew-j-brady-music-center-cincinnati-oh-5bab3f20.html/

full recording of june 1st show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PscArKi13y8

full recording of may 31st show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCIWX9Ild5Y

both nights, bossanova was the 2nd most-performed album, how nuts is that? it looks like most songs from bossa & trompe are still in rotation. i'm surprised to see sad punk being sung that seems vocally straining but maybe charles is up to it (or maybe it's not actually that hard i don't know anything about singing)

This is such a great moment, I love Charles’ way of handling these hiccups, and I think Get Simulated could be in any 2.0 setlist these days. Also bittersweet moment to see Paz cheerleading

The Toronto show was good - 10 songs from Bossanova/Trompe (Ceclia Anne, Velouria, Is She Weird, All Over the World, the Happening; Planet of Sound, Head On, Subbacultcha, Distances Equals Rate Times Time, Motorway to Roswell, The Navajo Know) left me a happy customer, although I have to admit envy for the Montrealers who got Alec Eiffel last night!

Maybe someday we will get setlists with every album represented

My wife and I were planning on simply listening to the Pixies show at Forest Hills Stadium on Saturday (it's a few blocks from our apartment and the sound encompasses the whole neighborhood), but a friend who had two tickets dropped out and now we're going! I'm so happy!

Well that was one of the best shows of my life. Pixies did a crazy setlist with tons of Bossanova and Trompe songs, and lots of surprises. Frank was in spirited form, screaming and improvising and changing things up a lot, and Joey seemed really energetic and having a lot of fun (compared to the previous shows I've seen.) Emma's voice was fantastic, perfect harmonizing and much better than in some of those videos I had seen. My friend was with me (who I recorded the Frank Black podcast with) and I had no idea he had never seen Pixies before, and he was shocked by the setlist. He loves Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde.

Vegas Suite: It's still sticking out like a sore thumb...it's basically a mellow Catholics song. But I'll say this, it has developed musically a lot since those early YouTube videos, and Frank was vamping a lot more in kind of a Pixies-way with the vocals.

I teared up at Motorway to Roswell and my wife cried about five times (which is normal for her at concerts.)

The crowd around us was weird. A lot of disinterest. I suspect Modest Mouse fans? One kid put headphones on and started READING A BOOK when Pixies took the stage. A lot of people left during their set. A lot of people just sitting looking miserable and on Twitter and Instagram on their phones. What the hell? These were expensive tickets. Why even go?!

People stood up for the more popular songs like Here Comes Your Man (played super fast tonight), but what blew my mind was the rare cuts. I sang along all night. It was fantastic. The sound was great too.

The only major disappointment was playing Wave of Mutilation twice. Come on. That's a precious 3 minutes you could be doing another Trompe song or something. Was kind of deflated when they brought it out again. I was also not thrilled with ending on Winterlong, and neither was the crowd as many people decided to leave during it. I was also surprised not ONE song from the past four albums, which would have been really fun to hear live. I mean not ONE! That seems kind of crazy to me, to ignore the entire second half of their career.

Setlist:
U-Mass
Wave of Mutilation
Head On
Isla de Encanta
Cactus
Planet of Sound
Vegas Suite
Ana
Here Comes Your Man
Motorway to Roswell
Gouge Away
Down to the Well
Caribou
Hey
Mr. Grieves
Subbacultcha
Monkey Gone to Heaven
All Over the World
Velouria
The Happening
Bone Machine
Debaser
In Heaven (Lady in the Radiator Song)
Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf)
Where Is My Mind?
Winterlong

Here's a youtube video I made of clips from the show, featuring every single song played:

Thanks for the review Trouble glad you enjoyed

Setlist looks comparable to other shows this leg

They’ve been doing the double Wave for a long time - I guess it technically is two different songs

And as obnoxious as that crowd sounds, unfortunately I’m not surprised

Btw looks like they debuted “You’re So Impatient” last night in Michigan.

Does anybody “gotta link?”
