Need to get rid of those two Grand Duchy albums asap! They're meaningless when placed alongside all Pixies, Catholics and FB/BF albums in my humble opinion..

Only four forum members voted in round 4, with me making number five, and unfortunately the deciding vote. I don't really mind the Pistolero cover, and I like the Honeycomb cover, so I can't vote those. I'll join ricj and vote off the Grand Duchy albums, too normal looking for FB. And I don't like Abbabubba either, but I'm sure it will be gone soon enough.

Definitely calling the results a little bit early on this. Also, as usual with these Survivors, you guys are crazy!
One More Road for the Hit is certainly the least creative or interesting. Literally a font on a nothing background. Fine for a b-side compilation. I get turfing Cult of Ray at least on the surface, but it was kind of a middle finger to big budget photo shoots and I like the intentionally DIYness of it. Brown album isn't THAT interesting either, I always assumed the figure is a reference to one of the reincarnation figures of All My Ghosts but haven't really analyzed it. Still more interesting than text. And I understand the band photo artwork not being loved, but, well, same point basically.
Anyway, rant aside, what's done is done. I vote off, you guessed it, One More Road for the Hit.

| Looking back over the covers, I think Cult of Frank has a very good point. Not much design seems to have gone into that. I'm voting One More Road For the Hit this time as well. |

Just a bit of fun at the end of the day intit.
To be honest, there's so many covers that it just starts to seem a bit pointlessly impossible to choose 'the best' one. I mean, if there was only 5 or 6 to choose from it might seem a bit more meaningful but to try and choose a 'best' from what is essentially five different music projects... Maybe if it was a best Pixies cover or best Catholics cover it'd seem a bit more meaningful. Also doesn't help that the forum only has a handful of active members these days. But I'm enjoying it anyway - carry on! |

The artwork for the Catholics singles were much better than the album's I thought - All My Ghosts, I Want Rock and Roll (great band photo), St Francis Dam Disaster, even Dog Gone despite its simplicity was striking.
Will vote for one more road. On hindsight it was harsh to vote for pilgrim last time |

I, too am going Honeycomb this round. I like the fact that the oil stain is somewhat snakelike in Snake Oil (maybe a stretch but...). It's next, don't get me wrong, but Honeycomb first for me.

My vote is Abbabubba. Can I just say that's a standing vote until it's voted off?
Honeycomb is somewhat boring as a record cover, but I don't hate it as a painting. It would almost be better without the text, which is just sort of there. The only eliminations I really disagree with so far are Let The People Speak and Indie Cindy. I wouldn't rank either one as a favorite, but I'd still put them both above several that are left. And speaking of those, and the field in general, there seems to be a real tendency toward the use of orange/brown/gold-type color schemes. |

I don't hate Honeycomb as a cover. But it doesn't do anything for me, really, either. I might choose the Pixies B-sides next as I think about it more.
