Do you care that Apple has added a Pixies emoji?

Have you used it yet when texting with your friends about the band?

Is this the lamest thread I have ever started?

I thought Tinker Bell was a faerie.

Lot of conflicting info out there regarding that, actually. Who knew?

According to a very morbid Disney kid's book I loved when I was young, Tinker Bell and her peers were called pixies until a war killed a lot of them. The survivors call themselves fairies because of a postwar religious movement. I swear I'm not making that up.

Q: Where do Pixies keep their instruments when they're not playing?
A: Debasement.

Disney definitely has a dark side to a lot of their stories, but that is a bit dark, even for them.

I would love to read that, though.

Really dark Disney stories are great. I mentioned on the ‘what are you watching’ thread that a few years ago, they had a cartoon called Gravity Falls, inspired by 80s horror, the X-Files and Twin Peaks. It was gloriously deranged with plenty of psychological horror and surreal nightmare imagery. Plus it was funny!

But as for the fairy books... they were published in the early 2000s or so. there were a lot of the books, and most of the darkest stories were from an official website. Sadly the website is defunct. Death to the pixies, I guess. You could probably find most of the books at a library or eBay, but they only alluded to stuff like the pixie war and the religion (which was based around a prophetic pigeon) without going into much detail.
