Ok since noone seems to read the website discussion threads i thought i should post this here too:El Barto has set up a channel for real-time chat on irc.How to get there:
-1 Download and install an IRC client from www.mirc.com for pc,or www.snak.com for mac
-2 If is the first time you use irc read the "read me" file and configure the thing(choose your nick,country etc)
-3 type //server irc.esper.net in the status window to connect
-4 Choose and join channel #frankblack
See you there...

You're obviously on the wrong network, then. You need to connect to the Undernet IRC network.

I did. I put the network in as Undernet, and the channel as #frankblack. I did read up on the installation of SNAC, the Mac version of Mirc. They mentioned OS10 not coming with all the necessary software you would need to configure the server correctly to join the chat room. They gave instructions for correcting this, but they were pretty technical and they said you would need to reconfigure some of the computer's basic systems to make it work. I'm just wondering if Mirc for Windows requires you to do something similar..? Maybe that is my problem..?

You should just be able to start your IRC client and type:
/server us.undernet.org
once it connects, type
/join #frankblack

I don't know. I have kind of grown used to the forum. Personally, I've never been in a chat room before, but I'd imagine it would be a little bit more like talking on the phone or in person than just posting is.
Whatever chat room I accidentally logged onto, I should've just started talking. Told the poor fuckers about the cyclops, the sneaky butcher, and the walrus, and all the other nasty shit I've learned on this forum. I swear, that's gonna be the shit I remember for the rest of my life!

I just can't afford to get drawn into a conversation in a chat. I'll pull up the forum when my computer's busy compiling or when I'm bored or something, but a chat is too easy to get stuck in. As it is I'm going to have to cut down my forum visits somewhat... at least at work.
