I don't think it is so unbelievable. Frank owned up to the four of them rehearsing randomly recently. Why not. If it makes them happy, and if it makes us happy (and it will) then awesome. I doubt that the catholics will be abandoned. For a tour and a record, I think this will rule. I never thought I would see the day, and if I did, I claimed I would never want to see it, but it may be here, and I will be the first in line.

he didn't own up to the four of them rehearsing though, did he. He owned up after that to being sarcastic to the British Press, however. He said "we" and everyone else listed the bandmembers.
I'm just taking it with a large pinch of salt until an official announcement either way. |

It just seems really premature to get all excited (or upset) one way or the other. It's still what I would classify as a rumour until one of the Pixies or a reliable source confirms it. My opinion is it won't, but I can't definitively say one way or the other of course.

I'm not sure it's a good idea. The Pixies left us at the peak of their powers in the early 90s, with an impeccable set of albums behind them. No disrespect to Frank/Black, but the stuff that has come out since isn't anywhere near as good at the Pixies, which makes me wonder if he's still up to writing new Pixies songs. I personally find TLM the most disappointing Pixies record, making me think they left us at the right time. So, I can't but fear that a new Pixies record would have nothing in the spirit or the youthful energy of songs like Bone Machine on it.
Sure they were fantastic, and maybe a tour would be a fun nostalgia trip for most of us; but we all know that it won't be the same and I'm not sure it's worth it artistically. Let's leave those gems where they are and hope the members of the Pixies do something a little bit more progressive. |

i feel the opposite, i would love to hear what their new stuff would sound like. just imagine! if they do this, i hope they will do it right and go in the studio first, release a record, and then tour.
