Well that was easy. Two tickets booked by 09:03. Maybe they are getting less popular :) |

Yes, I got my tickets for the Tuesday show without any delay either.
Thanks to those who offered me a ticket for the show last week, but I managed to source one for the stalls and went down the front as I usually do. Here's hoping the November shows are good. |

Yeah luckily I have a mate who's going to try get them the old fashioned way in person!
Online tickets are just too much of a gamble with Barrowlands. Was same last time, missed out as just couldn't get tickets online then sold out. Couldn't justify tout prices.
But fingers crossed for Friday, lucky that they tour the UK so often so can't complain! |

I can only speak for the U.S.A. but often you can find good tickets the day of the show at the box office, they'll release some a few hours before showtime. Is that the case in the UK or other countries?
Good luck Stevio10~

This is not so common at the Brixton Academy. They did release some "production" tickets which were upstairs on the day of the gig last week, but they were not good tickets. |

Typically, when the major venues say sold out they mean it. The big places, like the o2 or some of the theatre venues, occasionally release seats if the production is physically smaller than expected but its unusual for standing/gen admission gigs. |

I managed to get four seating for Manchester through songkick. My girlfriend also tried at the same time through ticketmaster and was unable to get any - seemed to have sold out incredibly quickly.
If I remember rightly Manchester sold out very quickly last time pixies were here (I ended up getting London tickets), so best of luck to anyone trying to get Manchester tickets on Friday

Strange tour organization. I expected more summer dates. Have they planned something during this long break ? New record maybe ? lol.

I've seen this in Belgium at some gigs (that sold out immediately when tickets went on sale; all tickets were general admission).
Do you think this is planned, and that they do it to sabotage the touts? Or is that just a nice side effect of selling some extra tickets that became available again a couple of hours before the gig (e.g. some journalists or other invited people not showing up)?

The Paris gig hasn't sold out yet, 2 weeks after the tickets were sold. Is there a specific touting problem in other countries that we don't have in France, or are there simply more Pixies fans in the UK?

I don't go to many gigs these days so don't know exact reasons. Looks like venue capacity is an issue (Glasgow, Leeds about 2000 capacity) and how frequently they play in that city - London 3 times this year!
London gets 3 gigs this year with bigger capacity (Brixton Academy almost 5000) While a lot of people are willing to travel, for some people it's too much hassle (kids, money, time off work) and there's something special about seeing them at a local smaller venue. (For me Barrowlands makes the gig unmistakable)
Then there's Ticketmaster and it's sister sites like GetMeIn that charge double atleast. Dont know how it works as I never use it but yeah, outside London every gig is like gold dust. It's the north south thing (And Scotland!)
I got tickets - luckily. Feel bad for everyone who didn't.
Going to see 2 Catholics first in 3 weeks - Miracle Legion in Glasgow - they are awesome, all members of the band have worked with BF |

the antwerp gig hasn't sold out yet either. i think one of the reasons is that they've only just played dour festival, also in belgium. that makes the antwerp gig less "hot". and the venue in antwerp (lotto arena) is nobody's favourite either.
doesn't the same thing apply to the brixton tickets? didn't it take a couple of days to sell those out? maybe this is also linked to the fact that they just played there?

I think the toutbots are a big problem in the UK. It's always been crazy trying to get tickets to see the Pixies at Brixton even when they were playing 3 or 4 shows in a row. |

I cant speak for Brixton but the Leeds and Manchester pre-sale went in seconds. Also for the main sale on the Friday both gone almost immediately. I think the circle seats make have taken a little longer. |

Did they really? I did not know that. I was not able to get tickets for the Brixton gig in July despite my best efforts the moment they went on sale. |

Managed to get tickets for Manchester. Paid above face value, but as I see it this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the Pixies with my best friend, a fellow Pixies fan. We used to listen to the Pixies at school together every lunch time, sharing a set of earphones (good job it wasn't a Catholics album) through a minidisc player (yes, we discovered the Pixies in about 2004...). Can't wait!
