Yes I saw him too. But he's hard to find in most pics. Maybe he's not that much involved in the band and/or in the creative process.

Or he just don't like social media. There's no activity on his twitter account since 2009.

Interesting quote on the radio interview BF did when he said he does get involved in the mixing/mastering business, they have other people to do that and this set of tracks is going to Bath.

I guess Instagram kinda killed the forum rumour mill! Looks like they had fun.

In unrelated news I had a vasectomy. Had to have something to celebrate my 500th post with! Anyone else had one? How long before you felt 'normal' again?

It has been quiet since they finished in London. Hopefully after a brief lull we will hear more about their plans.

I haven't had a vasectomy but I plan to soon, because I'm done having kids. Congrats I guess? Haha. What are you feeling like?

It certainly looks like they've had more fun than what was described during the Indie Cindy recordings!

Yeah I'm done after 2 kids. During its a bit like the dentist except a bit more personal haha! After im still getting some discomfort after a few days. Don't look afterwards, it's like a croissant or Cuba Gooding Jr's forehead!

I was just re-listening to the Um Chagga Lagga live performance from last year. Paz and Dave vocals are melting very well together. I just really like it. If the next album sounds like that, I'm totally buying it. Countdown has begun. Can't wait !

That's really cool to hear Paz sings lead on a track. Very interested to hear what it'll sound like!

As far as I'm concerned that basically makes it definitive that she's part of the band proper and more than simply a touring member who helps out in the studio. Well done indeed Paz!

Missed the latest news. Great ! I must say I was not really convinced by Paz live vocals performances on the latest tour (Shattuck was more in tune most of the time IMHO !). But then I saw some videos on Youtube where she performs solo, and she's obviously a good singer. I don't know why she sounds so off-pitch when performing live with the Pixies. Strange.

Anyways, glad to head she has a solo tune on the new Pixies record. Looks like they were having a good time in the studio. I think it will be reflected in the music.

Are they back in London? Posts on Instagram / Twitter from the band but can't tell if from now or back during recording. I'd guess during recording but could be mixing...

Well, glad to see the forum is back.

Apparently the new Pixies record has been mixed and is ready. I saw it by chance, following an Instagram suggested account related to Paz.

Theres a photo of this guy named Josh Freese with Paz and heres what he says:

[joshfreese]: "Listening party last week with a couple old friends. The new Pixies album is exactly how you'd hope a new Pixies album sounds. So good."

Woo hoo !

Why did the forum collapse for a couple of weeks?

So very excited about new record. A touch apprehensive about Tom Dalgety...all of his stuff that I've heard is a bit "dirgy"...but hopefully that was band specific. Pixies have lighter, airier songs, and need some open space in there - hopefully all the fun doesn't get sludged out. BUT, at least the rockers will definitely rock.

From what I have heard, his production results in flat sounding recordings, with the same amount of "compression" as everyone else.

The Royal Blood album is insanely compressed. But that's how rock music is made nowadays. The next Pixies record will probably sound the same. But complaining is useless, so... I just get over it and try to enjoy the music.

Could really use some new info right now. I'm jonesing watching that performance of Planet of Sound from the Rolling Stone session, and other live stuff with Paz. Just a snippet of new music would suffice. Come on Pixies, give us something....

can't give much away but the record is great. very much in the vein of indie cindy but punchier. classic masher is amazing. paz and bf trade off vocals on one of the tracks too.

Thanks Mr Insider ! Classic Masher was already great on past bf solo shows. It think we all knew this one would make an amazing song. So, does it really sounds like Indie Cindy ? Hope it won't scare anyone here !

Yeah, can you elaborate on "in the vein of Indie Cindy"? That statement can mean many things, haha.

I just hope it's released before the European tour starts. And with little fanfare. Just release it all without any build up.

no EP's this time. you'll hear something (semi) new before the EU tour.

to elaborate, the record has that post-reunion mid tempo songwriting of indie cindy but with more room for adventure. a handful break that mould - for example, baals back is angry and badass.

the album title is one of the songs on the BMI listing, wanna have a guess?

Guessing the semi new thing is just a song we've heard before? Classic Masher probably. As it is I'm pretty unexcited about this Cork concert. If they release the full album beforehand I'll be pumped.

I'll guess the new album is called Um Chagga Lagga, just to continue the lame precedent set by Indie Cindy.

I know. I meant Indie Cindy was a silly name for the album (as agreed by many).
