I didn't see that at all. Good catch. Lot of people here will be relieved to know that Classic Masher is finally getting recorded.

Great pictures. Looks like those recording sessions were pretty laid back. First-ever since Surfer Rosa ?
Looks like Joey definitely adopted his Duesenberg.

Yup, it looks like Paz has passed the audition and is now an official member of the band. Looking forward to hearing some new material with Paz on bass. They're also touring this year, have some pretty big gigs booked in Europe. |

Yeah, that's the impression I got as well. When jake3 mentioned the social media clues I went looking and found that stuff on Paz's account as well. Looks like they are having fun though, that video of Joey exiting the cab is cool. |

I'm not sure why you keep saying it would've been rushed? Just because it doesn't fit into either their old timeline or an old industry standard timeline, doesn't mean it's being rushed. We have no idea how much they've recorded/rehearsed this material. Some of it has been around for awhile anyway. Things can move quicker if an artist desires, that's how things have changed in the music world. |

Second off, I gotta say, given the massive list of unreleased registered songs on that publishing site, I would love to see just a flat out all-over-the-place White Album kind of thing. Fuck it. Double Disc, 28 song madness. Like a Pixies version of FMRM.

Considering the proportions of the chartboard appearing in the video and extrapolating the total number of columns, there must be about twelve songs in total.
Maybe there was a new chartboard at each studio session: 36 songs

Paz posted a small video of BF recording in the studio. Few hints here and there about the actual location... did some research but can't figure out yet which recording studio it actually is.
edit: the video also shows Tom Dalgety at the mixing console.

It could very well be Oona. Personally however I think the final letter looks more like an 'e' meaning it could possibly be '[You Might As Well Be] Gone'. |

Yeah. And they were indeed at RAK studios (many clues on twitter and instagram, and latest Frank Interview then Joey's twitter referring directly to it.
Those were pretty long sessions. Canada ? Maybe ? Then Bath and London. Black Francis still laying down guitar tracks til the very last day.
If the whole bloody thing is yet to be mixed/mastered, I guess it'll take a few extra months to finalize. I'm expecting something in June to support the next tour. What's your opinion ?

It is a little strange he didn't show up in any of the pics. But at least he was in that promo clip with the feedback. Maybe they were just doing guitar parts/overdubs and vocals and the drums were already wrapped?
