Pixies are playing on lot of small festivals on this tour. How in the world a small festival could afford to pay those extravagant fees ? Just asking.

Not surprised. How much of $20K do you think they net? 75%? Assuming they split the money equally 4 ways that's $3,750 per person. What did they do last year? 30 gigs? That's $112K per person. Not a bad payday, but they're not getting rich either. It's not like Kim needs the money anyway, although her sister probably does. I think it's just to keep herself busy. |

picpic, if you look at the link, it's not that expensive compared to others.
Re: Breeders, they played in Paris a couple of years ago (around the Mountain Battles release date I think) and I didn't go cause tickets were fucking expensive (and I hate the venue). I'm surprised they're among the less expensive bands.

Arcade fire charge 1 million minimum. I hate them even more. What pathetic group of greedy dick heads. And who in the hell would pay ben harper 250K to play sexual healing in 2014???
So who wants to put a few bucks down and get a private Pixies gig? |

Oh lord, that would have to be some kind of special hell for the band, especially Charles - Imagine having to fend off non-stop questions and song requests and photo requests from all us assholes on this site!
...A crowd of only the type of people who would spend so much time posting and bullshitting about the same band/artist on a board for years on end... Yikes!
My density has popped me to you. |

My questions would be extra special. Example: How many times did you have to rescue a passed-out Kim Deal from the airplane toilet? |

We can put up some kind of cage to separate them from the horde. BTW, Blink 82..750K minimum? How is that even possible for a band who literally have about 5 good songs (being generous) over a 2 decade long career??
I went over their discography once. It is a bipolar mess. |

Music careers can be so fleeting. One year, people love you; the next year, they hate you (or they forgot about you). Or your singer commits suicide. Or half the band goes down in a plane crash. I don't blame any popular young band for making as much money as they can for performing while they can.
No idea about Blink 182. Never even heard them, as far as I know. Maybe they're big with the pushing-30 nostalgia crowd who were fans of the band when they were teenagers WAAAAAAY back in the early 00s.
If that figure is true about the Pixies (and I don't assume that it is), good for them! |

That's probably not the fee for a tour appearance. The Burton Cummings Theatre is where they're scheduled to play in Winnipeg, same as 2004. It's about 1600 seats @ $40 to $80. I guess 1000 @ $80, 300 @ $75 and 300 @ $40. |

Looks very expensive to me too.
But we don't know if that fee integrates transport, hotels, food, logistics, etc...

hmmmm. there's a big gap between $29,999 and $100,000. but even so; lets do a kickstarter for $250,000 and we'll get 10-20 celebs off the $10K-$20K menu and a washed up director; rent an abandoned warehouse; set up a bunch of cameras and shit and go to town. c'mon anna kournikova, bloodhound gang, maury povich, suicidal tendencies, miss piggy and kermit. we',ll make millions.
