Does anyone else think this song might be about falling in love with a corpse?
I went to make the vivisection saw the star carved on her chest...

I thought the same thing. You may be on to something.
Pretty sure I hear a reference to a scalpel later on. Perhaps he's a coroner who falls in love with a gal with whom he's been tasked with autopsying? Charles definitely can find some wacky subjects for his songs...indeed necrophilia is out there!

I think this Blue Eyed Hexe is alive. Mostly because of the definition of vivisection:
Vivisection (from Latin vivus, meaning "alive", and sectio, meaning "cutting") is defined as surgery conducted for experimental purposes on a living organism, typically animals with a central nervous system, to view living internal structure. |

http://www.sacred-texts.com/neu/celt/tfm/tfm091.htm Nixes are water people from German mythology.(Reminds me of Selkie Bride the creatures not the song).Queets is a river/forest in Washington.

Really like the lyrics on this one. Though I'm no 'No Kim, no Deal'... it sure would of been nice to hear her harmonize with Mr. Francis on that second verse and chorus. Also, anyone else want the Pixies to record like Black Letter Days/Dog in the Sand era Catholics? Blue Eyed Hexe would be a good fit for that live to two track method of yesteryear. |

I like the full voiced in the 2nd and 3rd choruses. Gets me hyped. |

From looking at this other BF painting titled blue_eyed_hexe, the star on her chest is in-fact a reversed pentagram.
