this is a serious problem that affects hundreds of thousands of adults. i'm curious if any of you have dealt with this problem, and how you dealt with it

I once spent a night in a war zone sleeping in a hall with about twenty others. One of our number snored louder than a jumbo jet. We were two floors up and people on the busy street below were throwing stones at the window enquiring about the noise. We were in utter disbelief that a snore could be so loud. We felt like we were witnessing one of the universe's more unusual phenomena. After the initial shock it became apparent to us all that we could not permit this individual to sleep. We got through the night.

Also have a problem with snoring. Not many success stories with snoring that I've heard about, but I'm far from an expert on this. Unless you go to a doctor and say: "I snore like a a bear and need this to stop". He'll probably say that you have to have an operation that may involve correcting your nasal septum or something like that. It hurts like a motherfucker and you'll be eating through a straw for a week, but it does work. One other operation choice is to surgically remove soft tissue from the throat to help air pass through the throat.
Don't really know of success stories with less expensive choices. Not sleeping belly up, I guess? Sleeping on your side.
Buying another bed and sleeping in another room also helps with the complaining the next morning... |
