Wow! That was quite pathetic......pathetic in that she seems so desperate to cash in on her Pixies connection.
First, people who can never get their heads out of high school need psychiatric help. I only went back to my high school twice after graduating. The year after to watch a friend graduate, and a year after that to watch my sister graduate. I've never been to a reunion. I keep in contact with exactly 6 people from my class of nearly 600. I only discovered recently that Julie Farman is friends with one of my high school classmates because I saw said classmate listed on the Facebook friends list of one of the six people I'm still in contact with.
The Pixies got started in 1986 and only played a few gigs in various dive bars around Boston. I really doubt anyone of Walsh's high school classmates even knew about it. She also wasn't his wife at the time, she was his girl friend. I don't think they married until shortly before they divorced.
Farman's stories are a hell of a lot more interesting and entertaining.....not to mention she's a much better writer. Julie doesn't seem to be updating her blog anymore, maybe she's saving it for her book?
To sum up, Walsh really comes off as vapid. I wonder what Thompson saw in her? |

i sometimes miss the days before anonymous internet discussion groups, and blogs, and comments sections. it seems like these things have truly brought out the most toxic, petty and pussyish side of human beings.
20 years ago we wouldn't have imagined a world of grown men passive aggressively gossiping about someone's ex wife from their computer. that would probably have come across as... what's the word for it?

Thanks for posting Maharal. That was a fun read. Always good to know what the first Mrs. Thompson is up to and to get another perspective on all things Frank.
