Now the homepage here says the Club Helsinki show was rescheduled and there's a date in March. Anyone know the story on the March show?? |

The show in Harrisburg was great. RP played for probably 45 minutes and then BF came out.
His arrangements had a bit more of an edge to them than the last show I attended back in 2010.
Here is my attempt at a setlist that is not really in order except the first and last song. I probably missed a few.
Bullet Wave of Mutilation Where is My Mind? The Swimmer Los Angeles (with shout out to Arlo Guthrie, "Coming into Los Angeles..." because he was also in Harrisburg that night apparently) Jumping Beans That Burnt Out Rock and Roll She Took All the Money Massif Centrale All Around the World Dead Man's Curve Living on Soul Men in Black All My Ghosts Cactus Subbacultcha Vamos I Burn Today The Holiday Song Nimrod's Son Sing For Joy Duke of Earl I Want to Live (on an Abstract Plain) Maybe Bone Machine or Something Against You? There were two songs I didn't recognize that I hope are previews of an upcoming album. One about a silver snail and one about a mermaid I think (Lyric-Going back to the greens and blues...)
Then RP came back out and they played Another Velvet Nightmare which ended in epic screaming contest the BF clearly won. His expression while RP was trying to scream was comical. |

He also played Subbacultcha, I Burn Today and Robert Onion. Nice setlist, more varied than usual, and the new songs have me excited by their mere mention. REALLY want to see a video of the screaming contest too.
Edit: Just watched the Calistan video from the other night - woah! Fantastic. I'm ripping the audio to iTunes.

Neither of the two "new songs" are new. Out of curiosity, whatever happened to the studio recording of That Burnt Out Rock and Roll recorded in Dallas a few years back? Did that/ will that ever see the light of day?

The videos labelled as new songs are mislabeled. They are Men in Black and That Burnt Out Rock and Roll.
It was the silver snail and mermaid ones that I thought might be new. Does anyone recognize them? I will keep looking to see if someone posts a video. I wasn't recording anything. |

Good call on Subbacultcha. Are you referring to the Ithaca show? He played iat in Harrisburg too and I think he might have played I Burn Today as well but I'm pretty sure not Robert Onion. |

I wish Men In Black could be new again somehow and I could discover it all over again.

I was just going by the Cornellsun review linked above! Wasn't at it myself, I can only dream of BF coming to Ireland to play a solo set. |

Still only touring America? He seems to be taking a break from things, or preparing for something big. I suppose you can understand he might want a break, he's starting to get old and maybe can't take the tourbussing around everywhere like he used to. He has been pretty active since the Pixies split in 92. He works really hard, and deserves more recognition than he gets for his solo work. I saw a French X factor Pop singer murdering Where is my mind on youtube recently. This song is everywhere now, it's being plagiarised for adverts and everything. And I've watched him play this song in the middle of the street in Nijmegen, stoned out of my bollocks and with a broken foot (Jone's fracture)
So asides from me being drunk at this moment what is the deal of a new pixies album. I'd settle for a solo tour. catholics reunion would be nice too. If they never record anything together ever again though then I don't care either way either, it just goes to define their uniqueness even more.

Thanks for the links. I love that version of Living on Soul; not only is the bridge amazing, I love how he altered the chorus with that slow heavy strumming... |
