They were great in San Francisco last night. Kim's voice is just as incredible and youthful as it was on Come On Pilgrim, she really sounds amazing. This is the only time I've seen the Breeders where neither Kim or Kelley blew a song in the middle and had to start over. Surprisingly (maybe even disappointingly) polished. Last Splash was good, but Pod was the real show stopper, in my opinion. Jim and Josephine were solid, and Carrie Bradley was really a wonderful surprise. She killed it on "Driving on 9". Kelley Deal, charming, energetic and joyful as ever, remains the most ineffectual member that any band could ever want. Her credit in the linear notes should be "Kim's sister", she's like the Andrew Ridgeley of alternative rock. Going again tonight, can't wait.

That is fuckin hilarious and a very cool premise for Kelley. But then again, I have a cat.
I find Kelley to be SOOOOOOOOO pretty. Is it just me? |

I'm sure the Breeders will still be active in the future, but I doubt we'll see any more year long tours from them. Breeders were a flash-in-the-pan on the first go around, and a footnote in alt-rock history today. The question is: Will Kim rejoin the Pixies? Deal has flip-flopped so many times in the past, I'd never say, "never". |

I doubt Kim would rejoin the Pixies, Charles would block that move for sure. As for another classic line-up Breeders album...I wouldn't bet the house on it. Unless Kim has a bunch of tunes lying around I can't imagine Josephine and Jim waiting around six years for her to write an album and record it to her standard. Plus they'd have to tour it to see any money from it since noone buys music anymore. |

Interesting that Kim's guitar was Joey's in the Pixies!?
He used it until his solos started getting wilder and Kim feared for her guitar getting damaged so he had to get his own.You can read all about it on the Pixies History Book.

Can I just admit that I hate this thread? I see that there has been a post in Pixies News and I think maybe a new song has come out or something and it's a freaking post about Kim D and the Breeders... There needs to be a section for "related people/bands" like Kim D, Breeders, Martinis, Everybody, etc.

I looked at the ticket prices for some of those Oz venues...about $70 Australian. That's very expensive, the Oz dollar is currently worth more than the US dollar. Most of their US ticket prices were about $25. Are they actually selling out those Oz venues? |

Saw them last night at the Tivoli, they were great!
A shorter show than Enmore by the sounds. After Last Splash they only played about 6 or 7 other songs in the encores, mostly from Pod.
