I've been slowly exploring this label the last couple years. It truly is kinda a genre unto itself. Not to say that it's a specific style or that all the artists sound exactly the same, but with the similar thin, lo-fi production values of their early recordings, many done by Chris Knox of Tall Dwarfs, and the later stuff on the label is a pre-90s college rock blueprint, it's easy to see why this is considered such an influential label. Here's a few of my personal highlights, though I've admittedly only skimmed the surface of this label.
