It's common with reapearing stocks. Usually it comes from broke stores, maybe it stayed years in a shed, then one day somebody buy it at a ridiculous price or get it for free because he works in the storage place or knows somebody there, then checks the price on the net. But they dont care about it, so they can't really describe it. |

I picked up the Oddballs re-issue. The packaging is the same as the Live at Melkweg and Nijmegen. Just glad to have it for under 40$. |

USB? haha. i dont have either of those on CD, is it digipack or the folded cardboard slipcase kind (a la bluefinger/NSE)? is there an insert or updated letter from FBF?

Definitely not the USB!! Ha! It's the eco-friendly cardboard gatefold cases--like Bluefinger and NSE. |

Hey - anyone heard anything about the vinyl release of Oddballs? I know it's still pretty early in September, but I don't remember seeing a date associated with it.

Not yet, not as far as I can see. The CD is available - but I don't want the CD, I want the vinyl.

Cool. I never thought to check Amazon for the vinyl. I actually forgot all about this.
If you subscribe to Amazon Prime, the vinyl is a sweet $15.99 total (two-day shipping included). I just pre-ordered like a motherfucker. |

I'm not Jason The Audio Nerd, but the vinyl sounds good and plays great to me. It's pretty much just the CD pressed on wax. It wouldn't surprise me if the original masters for this stuff were lost. Still, it's perfectly fine for the vinyl collector who just enjoys the ritual and who thinks they look cool. I always felt that the original CD had a side 1/side 2 thing going on ("Announcement" sounds like the end of a "side") and now this LP realizes that. Hopefully, more Frank vinyl is coming from The Bureau. I'm happy to register my monetary support.
Further notes: This doesn't include Frank's great original liner notes from the CD ("Trying to be Daltrey"... "Trying to be Strummer", etc.)
No download code (not that I, personally, need one). |

HATE that writing style. Two paragraphs at the beginning about how he didn't listen to "indie rock" until he went to boarding school. Scintillating. I'm glad that a reviewer who writes like that doesn't like ODDBALLS. |
