Having somehow only just discovered the Pixies Warren Zevon Cover, it got me thinking about what other tracks they could inject a little magic into.

If you could pick 10 songs for an imaginary Pixies covers comp what would you choose? Songs they have already covered are fair game for inclusion.

I guess to make this a successful thread I should start off with my selection to get us going but instead I'm going to hope someone else swoops in and saves the day.

I would love to hear Pixies version of Apache, Bowie's Moonage Daydream and Kim can sing The Cars' Touch and Go.

Down On The Street (The Stooges)
Souljacker, Pt 1 (Eels)
Zig Zag Wanderer (Captain Beefheart)
My Back Pages (The Byrds - Kim singing)
Gimme The Car (Violent Femmes)
I Can't Forget (Leonard Cohen)
Pink Turns To Blue (Husker Du, ignoring all the hate directed towards BF by Grant Hart)
Whale Song (Modest Mouse)
Starving in the Belly of a Whale (Tom Waits)
Death of a Clown (The Kinks)

Started listening to the Ventures recently, they'd do a great cover of Walk, Don't Run.

This definitely requires some thought. I, too, will have a think.

So weird! I just saw this thread today...I had a dream about The Byrds song MY BACK PAGES last night! Such a beautiful song...off their best album (Notorious Byrd Brothers)!

I'd like to hear them do some Deerhoof songs, I think that could be interesting.

Starting with-

Chatterboxes from the album Runner's Four, that would be amazing to hear them do it in the style of Bossanova

And also-

probably every other Deerhoof song I hear tonight while I am on my current Deerhoof mini-session

Hey The Maharal,

The Pixies already covered Cohen's I Can't Forget. Your wish has already been granted.
