Great article. Apparently, he is moving from Oregon to the mean streets of western Massachusetts. Got to hang out with his family last year. Too much fun!! Just FB and Eric Drew Feldman this year (no drummer). Should be a great show!

Got tickets to see the Pixies at Hampton Beach (NH) too! Have to say that I am more excited about the show tomorrow night.

I don't think they will. The show Thursday was great!! Love the way that he and Eric Drew Feldman mix things up. Very affable. No roadies so they packed up all their own gear after the show. My girlfriend and I both got pixtures with him after the show. Very gracious. Great time! The bartender Jamie is really nice too!

I wonder if the Pixies will release new material. I think they could really rock out on some FB material. I love the Pixies as much as the next guy but his body of solo work (and with the Catholics and others) is just incredible. He should be in the same class of songwriters as Dylan, Tom Waits, and a couple more. The man rocks!

It was pretty close to this set that he played in NY the other day. Had a bit of a strange start. Reid Paley and the audience were not getting along so well. He got booed and left then came back and played a pretty rocking show. Not sure what the booing was about (I was in line at the bar). Once he got going he rocked it pretty damn good. Frank Black was in fine form and his scream was very well intact!!!

Reid's set:

The Anesthetist's Song
See You Again
Better Days
Lucky's Tune
L.A. Serenade
If I Knew Then What I Knew Now
Take What You Want
Waiting Out the Rain
Lazarus in Brooklyn

Black Francis setlist:

The Black Rider
Six-Sixty-Six
Los Angeles
Where is my Mind?
The Swimmer
Horrible Day
Bullet
Robert Onion
Sir Rockaby
(I Want to Live on an) Abstract Plain
I Heard Ramona Sing
Ten Percenter
I'll Be Blue
All Around the World
Sing For Joy
2 Reelers
Nimrod's Son
I Burn Today
That Burnt Out Rock and Roll
She Took All the Money

First two songs, organ only, no guitar.
Los Angeles/WIMM EDF on organ
The Swimmer/Horrible Day EDF on piano
Bullet-> Ten Percenter EDF on bass
I'll Be Blue/All Around the World EDF on piano
Sing For Joy->the end EDF on bass

aunt made a last minute decision to take our shared family cottage in mashpee so this would have been way too long a drive for me without a place to stay on the cape. luckily i didn't buy a ticket in advance. second summer i've missed him with edf now, nuts. and i love paley as well. he's gotten booed every time i've seen him open for frank
