This Saturday (4/17/2010) in Eugene Oregon, Black Francis is playing a special Record Store Day instore at CD World (3215 W 11th) at 3pm. If you're in the area, you won't want to miss the chance to support an awesome local record store and see a free live Black Francis show......

Yesterday was awesome. Charles actually played 2 shows, one at the record store and one at a small bar later in the evening. Both the set lists were nearly identical, and very special; starting with Come On Pilgrim up to NonStopErotik, he played one song from every album he's ever made (except The Golem and Oddballs)
Caribou Where Is My Mind Wave of Mutilation Velloria Planet of Sound Los Angles Headache Men in Black 666 (instore) / All My Ghosts (evening show) Western Star Bullet Califonia Bound Whiskey in Your Shoes Beautiful Day I Burn Today Fitzgerald Angles Come to Comfort You When They Come to Murder Me Come Over To My House (instore only) Dead Man's Curve
awesome shows....I think I got it all, I didn't miss any albums, did I? Two great Black Francis shows! |

Did he announce that it was going to be one song per album (and in order) or did you figure it out? |

Wow, heile, that is so cool!
I am so happy you caught such great shows(and a little jealous).
Was the set up electric I would guess? Or was it acoustic?
What was your favorite part?
Thanks again heile!

Wow, great stuff. I'd love to hear When They Come and Come On Over acoustic.

They were both electric shows and he did announce that he was playing them in order. He made jokes after each song about what was going on each year when the records were made, it was pretty funny.
Great shows! |

Wow what a totally satisfying setlist. Very jealous. Was that Saint Peter in the box office?

EUGENE, Ore.--- In a single day CD World on West 11th sold 48 times the number of records it usually sells on a weekend day. Yesterday record stores across the country celebrated the return of vinyl. It was all a part of record store day. Thousands of independently owned record stores slashed their prices on records both old and new. CD World hosted a party with live music by Black Francis, also known as Frank Black, from The Pixies. The local music store will be highlighted in the next edition of Rolling Stone magazine. "We were one of three that were profiled by Rolling Stone. They took pictures, I think they interviewed the owner as well. They took lots of pictures of the in-store Black Francis," says Katie Locke of CD World. Yesterday alone, the store totaled sales nearly reaching $10,000. They estimate 700 music lovers crammed into the aisles to hear the sounds of Black Francis.

I remember him playing 'Whiskey in Your Shoes' the first time I saw him live. Sounds bloody great played solo. |
