that's one nickname i don't really get . but i guess lots of cities have nicknames that don't make sense (the big apple).

it seems like saying P D X takes longer than "portland". most nick names usually shorten a name.

also, it's the abbreviation of the airport. again, don't really get it. but then i don't get why New Orleans is called "The Big Easy". or why Albuquerque is called "The Big Bunghole"

I knew there was a reason I wasn't super fond of Albuquerque. It is so clear to me now.

In PDX defense....reading PDX and writing PDX is shorter than "Portland." Not too mention it is just plain sexier. And...better than "stumptown"

floop, i was in disneyland for the last 5 days, i seriously stimulated orange county/anaheim's economy; did you feel it?

by the way, you ever skate the skatepark at the vans outlet store at the block of orange? looked rad, wished i had my board or was dresssed more appropriately, would have rented a deck...

hey shiney, i'm sorry you were at Disneyland for 5 days. unless you enjoyed it. you should have brought your board and given me a ring

i've never skated Vans but i want to. the only drag about Vans is they require full pads and it's kind of expensive from what i hear. but it definitely looks awesome

You have to pay to go to a skate park?

Is it air-conditioned?

Are there free drinks?

most are free but some charge a small fee like 2 bucks (usually only if you're a non-resident of the town). i heard Vans in Orange charges like 8 bucks though. i mean, i can afford 8 bucks but that's just wrong, on principle

lately i've been enjoying this beautiful park which just opened up last month http://laist.com/2009/10/06/a_look_at_venices_new_skate_park.php free, open all the time, no pads

Floop, what is your general feeling towards Brat-Packer Andrew McCarthy?

AND

do you think the frozen water they found on the moon would be suitable for human consumption, or do you feel it may cause a sci-fi epidemic?

with a yearly membership of $25 it was $7 on a weekday and $10 on a weekend. but they had everything, even a pool, a little area where you could practice new shit. street area. i understand the objection to paying and the full pads, but i bet it all (or most) goes straight to insurance...anything that doesn't prolly goes to maintenance. not sure if this is the exact one but it could be:

that looks like Vans although i've never been. they're supposed to have an amazing bowl there.

i don't mind paying if it's going towards a good cause, but there are so many free parks around here it doesn't make sense. and hammer, i don't think there are too many indoor ones here in olde Southern California but there are some

as an aside, this past weekend i saw someone get severely injured (broken angle - foot dangling) which kind of freaked me out. FUN!

Hey floop, how's it going? That's not my question. My question is what's a good way to tell someone you like them other than saying "I like you"?

i find that stalking is a good way to show you like someone, without having to say "i like you". saying you like someone is one thing, but if you want to really show it, invest in some night vision goggles, and a trench coat, and some duct tape

good luck

I just got a new dog. He is male, and unfixed. I will be short on cash for the next couple of months, but I need to get him neutered because he is peeing all over everything to mark his territory. I found a website online that tells how to do the operation oneself. It is a kind of walkthrough for those with no veterinary training and can be done with ordinary household objects.

My question is-- should I attempt it?
